    Default Disable Floods

The known bug relating to floods can be extremely annoying. It doesn't just prevent construction of watchtowers, it permanently cripples movement through any province that experiences the event. Why not just disable the event from ever occuring? There's a file in \data\world\maps\base called descr_disasters.txt. For vanilla, kingdoms and every mod I ever play, first thing I do is edit this file. Change the seasons the flood can occur to 'false' for every season, and the event never occurs again. I have to believe this bug annoys a lot more people than just me, I've never understood why this disaster hasn't been disabled in every mod. Most players will never figure out what's causing the problem, or if they do they won't know how to stop it happening, why not mod it out of existence?

It might have gotten overlooked. It looks like every other disaster is set to false except storms in winter and floods in summer so maybe those 2 were meant to be false but weren't changed.

Harry Lime has explained, there is a problem with the watchtowers. / disaster bug/ But I had absolutely no idea, what cause the problem with the crippled moves. And now, I know.
Very good rocking song. The message of the song: WHEN PEOPLE LEARN TRUTH ABOUT UKRAINIAN WAR, THEY WILL GO INSANE!! (I suggest to turn the english subtitles on. Its over 18only because of violent pictures) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AAR6nUV7VI

Prob is much worse when playing a mod with bigmap, if flood hits the wrong province, you pretty much have to restart your campaign. The movement reduction is severe and permanent.

Hmm. And what about to delete the map.rwm file. Could it help?

To disable them go to Medieval 2 Total War/DLV_ext/data/world/map/base directory and open up the desc_disasters file. Set the disasters you wish to disable to false. I'm not sure if this is save game compatible but probably is not.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT save game compatible, i think yo ucan still use your campaign but you will see some weird things happening with floods repeating every turn. Best to edit the file and then start a new campaign and consider your old Empire the way of Atlantis!
