    Default Troubles on the horizon...

My dear friends and from now on, even colleagues,

Iven been given that honor and privilege to join your team, for which I am more than thankful to DVK. Just to introduce myself shortly, I am George, as you have probably figured out from my nickname, I am from the Czech republic, where my family lives for 900 years, most of it as part of the nobility, last hundred years humble citizens only

I am 23 years old, I study two faculties at the Charles university, more than 650 years old institution, law and economy. History (and especially ancient, and even more especially anything connected with Greece or Roman empire) is my great hobby, as well as necessary instrument in my studies. But my knowledge is nothing more than very humble and the more I think I know, the more I realise that I know only very little (lost?)

I personally do like fair discussion, even with sharp, but reasonable arguments, respect to every others opinion, even more if he can bring some argumentation to support him and as we all do, civilised fun.

I were invited as "historian, economy advisor and beta tester", but expect me to meddle into all your affairs, making me annoying thorn in the place where sun dont shine. But since my idiocy in programming reaches uncontrolable measures, this is the main addition I can give. Giving my ideas and through this perhaps start discussions, helping to realise those which could be realised.

I dont have plenty of time indeed. Apart from my studies, I have a girlfriend and a full time job. As you all do. But the cheerful and friendly atmosphere, connected with respectful knowledge I sensed from this community around Roma surrectum made me to accept the invitation and I truly hope I will soon become your friend as well as respected colleague...

    Have a nice day, mates
    Alea iacta est.

ah, welcome. i was wondering when you were going to be made part of the team! a few things to be aware of:
1: we're not the most organized of teams
2: we don't like people who don't like the romans
3: anyone who insults rome gets insta-banned.

    all clear?

yeah... i've had to be unbanned several times for 'repeatedly sacking Rome'. I still think the 'Empire of Syracusae' has a better ring to it. Welcome to the team.

    Ad Rory:

Ad 1: I say that organization is for idiots, since those intelligent will handle chaos easily...
Ad 2: As a loyal roman patrician, no problem concerning this point
    Ad 3: Did anybody try?

Ad Roman_Man - I dont really think so, battle at Cenoscephylae clearly showed the lethal weaknesses of hammer and anvil tactics in copmarison to roman initiative and flexibility...Alexander was simply lucky he fought enemy who simply didnt know recipe to his tactics. Romans did know

Btw, thanks for warm welcoming everybody...

You must realize of course that Alexander's successors used cavalry much less than Alexander ever did. They relied on the phalanx for the main offense, which, when coming from centuries fighting mirrors of themselves where it was perfectly valid, but it did not work against the much more flexible roman legion. Alexander was different. With his use of cavalry as the main offense and the phalanx as the pinning troops, he would have decimated the romans.

Well, Alexander lacked the balls to face the Armenians, so the Armenians win.

The Armenians never did anything to Alexander, it was a war of revenge against the Persians, and the rest was making sure his home was properly protected and respected. If they had started something, be sure Alexander would have finished.

And that is why Alexander wins.
