Crash during battles

There so far does not seem to be any pattern to the crashes except that the game will most likely crash, not to desktop, but completely restart the computer. The crash occures during large battles between full or semi full stacks. It has happen against rebels and against the carthagianians. I installed recently all the perm fixes and started a new game of Romani. WO the fixes I never had the problem during battles, they always seemed to be fine. I manage to complete a few battles but it was always between a small amount of units. The crashes have occured during seiges and non seiges.

Crashing the whole computer would indicate more of a hardware problem. You may be overdoing your graphics or RAM. What are you systems stats? Does Windows give you any details as to what caused the crash after your restart?

You could try updating drivers, especially your graphics card drivers and your processor drivers...

K Ill try the drivers. I have a dell 4500 intergrated 128 and 3 ghz processor. No details its as if I hit the restart button.

Well I tried the drivers and that didn't work so I did another two things or undid two things I did earlier. First I changed the Virtual memory options, and I reinstalled EB but kept the saved game, which undid all the permanent fixes. Loaded the saved game and fought a battle and so far so good no crash.
