Default What faction to play next and tips on them?

Nearly completed, England and Spain on H/H, and Milan on M/M and am getting bored of them. So I'm thinking of trying someone different. I'm just not sure.

So tell me what faction should I play next, and if you could add some tips on how to play them it would be most appreciated.

I am tempted to play Milan over again on H/H, but I was rather annoy'd by all the mountains that cause troop movement to be slow. I like fast moving Factions like england. My worst feeling playing Milan was being suprise attacked on a city with only 3 militia units and reinfocements were 4 turns away. Other factions I was thinking about were Egypt or the Moors. Egypt more because it's on the complete opposite of the map I'm used to playing on.

I've done two campaigns playing the Moors and strongly recommend them! I usually don't care about the campaign goals given to me by the computer.

My goal was to take and hold the whole of northern Africa, which is interesting because you have Spaniards and Portuguese attacking you in the west, Sicilians and the Papacy in the middle and Egypt/Mongols/Timurids in the east.

If you get a dull time period you can always start invading random Medieval Islands or mess a bit with Rome.

The Moors are a great faction to try out at least. They have to rely on spearmen and light cavalry in the early to mid game, forcing you to fight intelligently rather than mashing everything in. Later in the game you recieve very powerful infantry and cavalry to make up for the lack of them earlier on, and the mighty camel gunners. Worth a shot at least.
    I love you all!

Camel Gunners are fantastic. They are one of the only mounted units with long range, they have a high power firearm attack and they get a bonus when fighitng against cavalry.

I definetly keep a couple in every late period stack.

Yes camel gunners are VERY powerful. Just start up a skirmish with a unit of camel gunners versus the unit you think you'll be fighting the most and you'll see!

oh and Captain Spanky: I love you too sweetheart!

    Stainless Steele Templar Knights.

If you are looking for a challenge, then they are a good choice. One small castle, 1 priest, noone near you who likes you and the weather is also too hot down there.

Try'd both Moors and Egypt got about 20 turns in and things were not to my liking. The moors were nice on the iberian front, but crossing the dessert was horribly slow the same with egypt just not fast enough for me.

I decided to go with Venice and am enjoying them nicely, though I'm quite weary that my biggest ally the HRE broke my alliance and sided with my Enemy the Byzentine. And now that I'm 90% of the way into BE territory and surround by Hungary, They too have allied with BE. Though neither have attacked. It's draining my treasury keeping 4-6 troops in each of my bordering cities to stave off my paranoia. I'll save the rest for annother thread.
