More progress in the Ottoman campaign. One settlement short of reaching the the size of the actual empire:

Didn't want to make war with what's left of the Golden Horde though. So I left that one settlement at the northern part of the Bosphoros alone.

Another screenshot form a different Ottoman campaign I was playing. This time I'm playing it in H/M without the economic fix. This mod is so much more fun and challenging when you actually have to budget everything.

Yeah, the economic fix does that. It got kind of annoying for me after a while. Reinstalled it and didn't put the fix on. Actually made the game a bit more challenging and I actually had to budget and levy taxes a little more responsibly. When I had the economic fix on, once I had a decent sized empire as the Ottomans I had literally full stacks in all of my towns and cities save for one or two that had near full stacks and I was still making money faster than I could spend it. At that point it had lost its challenge.
Hi kdub22,
you dont need to reinstall the game by using the backup file
There are 3 options for balancing
1. playing with the fix: ai-factions create huge armies and your faction gets a lot of money. So the battles are morre interesting, because there are no 3 vs 4 units fights anymore. Every army has 20 (different) units in and so the battles are more fun and tactically more challenging. Also buildings can be build every round and there will be no problems with the law and order in the towns. On the other side factions who already start with a great empire getting bigger and bigger.
2. playing without the fix: - see kdub22- , but factions who start with a few regions cant build and recrute even when they got a lot of trade agreements.
3. playing with a part of the fix: There are 2 files in the fix. One for changing the taxes and stuff of the towns. One for the trade which raises the prices for goods. I tried playing only with the better trade, but i wasnt really happy.
So all in all everyone can try and find out what he likes.
If you want to play as HRE, Ottomans, England... you dont need it. Venice, Milan,... would be glad to have it.
