    Default First impression

I just started DLV 5.3. It looks great. I played DLV 2.0 and I didn't like it. But now it looks much better. I am a Stainless Steel fan but I will give DLV a try.
But I think that unit cards need to be redone and that would give the mod a whole new dimenssion.
BTW the added unit of Byzantine phalanx pikemen really looks bad and it's totaly out of place. Plus the armour upgrade doesn't change the skin so they stay the same.

Thank you for giving 5.3 a shot. With the unit card and byz phalanx pikemen please post into the stickied fan contribution thread. The armour upgrade might be a bug so posting that in the stickied bug thread would be helpful. Hope you like 5.3 and have fun playing DLV .

Edit (to post below): Thank you Sir Nicholas Altman.

I too just came over from Stainless... I really like the deeper traits system, but the battles are not nearly as pretty!!! Maybe that will change once I get later period units.

Also, I got a 'New World' event in 1220! Seems a little early. What are the triggers?

    BTW, playing as England.

The new world event occurs at this time just to keep the game interesting even though it's not historically accurate. It's a challenge of going up against good aztec units with earlier period units.

I'm surprise. I try most of the popular mods here.
By far, DLV is much more "fun/challenging" than others.

I do run into tons of $ issue in DLV lol. But I sorta figure out a way around that. And with my new rig, end turns takes less then 20sec than my old 80 second.

DLV been around since the release of M2TW.
And it has inter graded countless mods into it.
In fact, it inspire me to attempts make my mini "officer mod" back in 4.0.
Till I was inform that Niko has made his own with far superiority.

Hopefully this will turn things around more. Eh?
Repman & the teams deserve so much more credit with the countless times and effort put into this mod.
Basically its a whole new game, no idea what drives/motivate them to keep going. Also I have no idea why I keep
posting in forums. I've never post more then 100 post in a forum before. ROFL! Your that good!!!

Thanks. I will keep a vigilance when to download it. Or maybe you will include it in 5.4?

    Some impressions;

AI turns way to long. Really kills the game. ( I have an excellent computer)
My strat characters lag when I speed them up. They don't in any other mod or vanilla.
After playing BC with new unit cards and unit info cards this vanilla cards seem like crap and kill the eyecandy from DLV. I know its a huge amount of work but I hope they will be redone. DLV has nice skins but they don't mess the cards and thats bad.

I noticed the colour of the grass to green and to much grass when fighting outside Venice. Nothing special.
