It maybe 100% legal, from where I'm sitting I don't know that, but the garbage you you on your machine let's you have the option of bypassing the company's rules and that's where you and many others get caught.

    [QUOTE]CTD on startup
Q: When you start the mod you get a black screen and the mod CTDs.

A: There is an erronous entry in the data\unit_models\battle_models.modeldb, normally a reference to an non-existant mesh or texture, or an entry is incorrect. You won't recieve any help in the log for this so you'll have to check your entries manually.I'm looking around in my directory, and I can't find the data/unit_models folder. I can't find any folder for unit models. I'm thinking this is a bad thing. Any recommendations?

kingdoms.exe is NOT standalone. Itneeds to be told where to go. Can you play the four Kingdoms campaigns that came with it? Can you play the mod made for Kingdoms? If so, your error is a direction code error that deadended because there is no .bat file telling it where to go.

See if it's in the Windows/system32 folder. If it is copy it into the Sega Medieval II Total War folder.

i have unpacked the game, so i could script the files but i never got around to it. i remember reading a thread telling me if i dont not delete a certain text in the scripts my game will ctd. its apparently the first thing you are supposed to do after unpacking the game.

It's the readme in the unpacker folder. The supposed to be deleted files are the two geography files in the data folder.

This has already come up this week believe it or not.
A player bought a SATA drive to replace his IDE/ATAPI drive that died. It couldn't find the disc. He bought anther IDE and it worked. Also, another poster dug out the Colgate toothpaste for the scratches to get his to work.
If you're using something like Daemon or Alcohol, Securom will ruin it even with a crack.
