Its been so long since I had to reinstall M2 that I don't remember this. Do I need to patch to 1.2 then 1.3 (Kingdoms), or can I go straight from 1.0 > 1.3 without problems?

If you own Medieval 2 and Kingdoms, then first install Medieval 2, then install Kingdoms. You don't need to worry about patches, cause they are included in Kingdoms and will install automatically.
If you only have Medieval 2, then you must install it, then install patch 1.2, then install patch 1.3.
You can't install 1.3 right over 1.0 as far as I know.

Yes Garnier is correct. You need 1.2 installed before adding 1.3. My bad..

Garnier i have Kingdoms and it doesn't let me install 1.3 straight off

If you've installed Kingdoms it will already be patched to 1.3
