Sarmatian cataphracts?
Why don't the sarmatians have cataphracts? I think they have cataphracts as early as the parthians and armenians. And the "Sarmatae Kataphraktoi" in bi/alex really sucks a lot due to the lack of power charge, also it has no "ap" attribute mentioned in descriptions ("they carry a deadly pick which, even though cheap, is effective for piercing armor").

Re: Sarmatian cataphracts?
Sorry dude. I play EB, not RTR, but I am also a decent historian myself. The Sarmatians had kontos-wielding lancers, but only the wealthiest nobles or the ones with good access to advanced foreign or native could equip themselves AND their horses as kataphraktoi. The Scythians invented a sort of "scale apron" for their horses' fronts, and plating for their heads. Most nomads' noble cavalry adopted this Scythian style of horse armor. The nobles themselves usually wore scale, hardened leather, or a combination of both. The Roxolani were famous for being the most armoured soldiers among the Sarmatians; their 'common' tribesmen wore hardened leather/scale like other tribes' nobles, albeit not as fine (their horses were unarmoured). Roxolani nobles probably developed cataphract armour among the Sarmatians, and this was a rather late development, too. It was the Achaemenid succesors, the Arsacids and Orontids, that developed what we think of as "cataphracts."
