help getting my general up to consul
hey im currently trying to bring the marian reforms around and i have a general capable of doing so, all i need to do however is to make him consul, he is already popularis, has 2 command 6 management and 10 influence, hes sharp/charismatic/vigourous and i have fought over 250 battles and own more than 45 territories, so any tips on how to make him a consul? hes currently beating down some resistance from the epeirots in northern greece.

Keep him fighting. The influence you gain from war seems to help increase Senate offices. He has to move his way up the offices from the bottom.
And remember, there is an age requirement to be Consul (42, I think).

Re: help getting my general up to consul
What kind of office is he in?
My first two consuls never fought in a battle (they were stay at home governors) and the third was an old general that I retired from battle.
I wouldn't worry about it though, just make sure his command stays up and keep in away from actual combat so he doesn't die. If you notice he isn't gaining offices by 40 bring him to govern a city in Italy and just wait it out.
