.Net Frameworks launch error

So when I launch M2TW, Microsoft .NET framework says: An unhandled exception has occured in your application. [bla bla -->] The end of the error message says:
Input string was not in a correct format.



If I click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Or I can click quit and go back to surfing the internet.


I can always continue and play, no problem, except after 1-60 minutes it'll either CTD or freeze up, forcing a reboot. Sometimes it'll freeze and then clear up a couple of minutes later.

So a bit of searching revealed that a common solution to this issue was to update .net frameworks and get the latest drivers for your video card. Well, I've done both those things and it's still killing me over here. Interestingly there is no issue until I patch to 1.2. The issue remains with 1.3 and Kingdoms.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to play for five hours straight without frustrating interruptions.

That doesn't help. The problem is still there, the time I spent reinstalling is gone forever. Any other ideas? I've tried searching the internet a fair bit. But I can't seem to find any working solutions, and on most forums where others are having this issue, they are either given a solution that doesn't work or they get no help at all. Come on guys. Do I really have to stick to vanilla 1.0 to be able to play this game?

Have you considered it being a Windows issue and not a game issue? If so talk to Microsoft or just reinstall Windows and start from scratch.

Reinstall Windows? That is seriously your advice? Ok, please do not respond anymore. If anyone has a clue, that would be nice. Otherwise I guess I'll look at other forums and try to fix it myself. Or go back to vanilla prepatch.
