Do I have an issue or are lods just like this?
http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lodskc8.jpg
Maybe I'm fussy and thats just how it is but that low blurry unit LOD (I think its a 2D one) that comes in after the red line separator on this picture. It is something I'm finding a bit distracting, it doesn't really blend well at all, and they all might as well be doing the Mexican wave as I pan my camera view over them. I'd be much happier if there were some easier way to push it back to roundabouts where those green circles are, I have a pretty powerful computer that has no trouble with this game so I doubt it would impact performance. Would there be an easy why to change this? Or would I have to decompile some sort of pack and change the settings for every unit in the game?

Nevermind, I've fixed it now, I followed the ATI graphics card sticky at the top of the page, I guess the original poster was right, Catalyst Control Centre is rubbish, I had everything on max and looked just the same, I downloaded the tray tools and put it to max settings and it fixed it instantly, apparently it must change considerbly more settings and the graphics now look better then ever plus I'll have gained performance from losing CCC, one less tray icon, especially CCC for which its annoying tool bar menu would underlap the start menu bar.
Well I hoped that might somehow help someone else who had that problem.

SOS !!! ati2mag error...
i've been dying to play the new mods and patches however i always crush my game due to an "ati2mag" error as listed in my event Viewer. it's supposedly a CRT Invalid display. How can i reaolve this problem. I've updated all my drivers and am using an ATI 9550 Radeon graphic card.i haven't even updated to patch 1.1. My games wont even last 30 minutes before it crushes back to desktop or restarts and everytime its coz of the ati2mag error. It's really disappointing, can this be resolved?

I think you are referring to ATImtag, which is a dll file in the catalyst drivers as far as I remember.
Doing some research into it, AMD say that this is a frequent problem for some people with drivers later then 7.6 and ATI engineers and looking into it, so I'd suggest you install calalyst drivers 7.6 and it should be fine.

Also, why aren't you using 1.2? I thought most mods actually required it?
Personally I don't have that problem as my card is the 3000 series which isn't on that list.

Re: Do I have an issue or are lods just like this?
Ok forget what I said about the ATI tool tray, the only reason it seems I got that LOD thing changed was because I altered the unit detail setting in the medieval2.preference.cfg, I rewrote higher to highest, but I think actually it doesnt recognise what I put in, as it resets it afterwards so I'd have to change it again, and I think it makes it so it doesn't use LODS at all as I take a considerably noticable performance hit, although still playable.
