  • The game is screwed in certain fields, but at least some flaws can be repaired by making a good mod. I'm man (woman? ;p) enough to do it.

    12 44.44%
  • The game is fine, it would simply use a few corrections and beautifications here and there...

    9 33.33%
  • There were places and Wars in History, which are not in the game, that I find interesting. I'd like to see them on the screen. Shortly - creating a new campaign.

    8 29.63%
  • I love M2:TW and I like messing with and remaking things. Someone wanted a mod about <XYZ>. Why not help him do it?

    9 33.33%
  • For the sheer sake of a programmer's challenge. I like putting various letters and characters in a sophisticated logical order and seeing it really working in a game.

    6 22.22%
  • Other - time to spare, nothing better to do, whatever. Post what other reason that might be.

    Default The reason to mod.

This is not a technical question nor any direct suggestion, so I didn't put it into Modding forums.

    The question is:

If you already participate in some modding project, what made you start modding the game in the first place?

If you haven't yet tried it, imagine you had time and knowledge to do so. What would be the most likely reason to begin modding M2:TW?

PS. The reason for this poll is curiosity. Creative Assembly relates to the modding community as their "lead customers, people who don't only lay claims, but want to be a part of the solution" (not a quote word to word, but it's the point of a part of an article found somewhere on creative-assembly.com).
I wanted to know what drives the modding community.

As for me, I think CA did some sloppy work, sold it to their "lead customers" and expects them to fix it themselves, for free. That's just my point of view, strongly modified by a year of constantly meeting new bugs and traces of lousy programming. And not seeing the developer to be *really* concerned about fixing them.

For me it's just the satisfaction you get out of it. I have more fun modding and seeing my changes in-game than actually playing it. It makes me feel more accomplished and makes the game funner at the same time knowing it's your own creation.

im pretty new to modding games, but for me its a good way to test my skills as im a graphic designer, and coding, skining, and modeling is a great test of my skills, i myselft am still trying to get the hang of certain concepts such as skeletins, and mapping but its just like anything else if u keep at it u get it, plus i find it fun
