    List of changes:

    - 3 campaigns: Grand Campaign (less scripts for reliability), Full Campaign (full scripts, work in progress), Light Campaign (no scripts, fast turns)
    - permanent forts with names
    - merchants in forts give more money
    - Timurid-bug excluded
    - Rolling-hourglass bug excluded
    - corrupted-saves bug excluded
    - Brandenburg excluded in Custom Battles, in order to avoid ctd
    - starting faction set (descr_strat), traits & ancillaries edited
    - lower chance of appearance for heretics, witches, inquisitors, rebel armies
    - ui cards for mamluk archers and javelinmen added
    - ui cards for some buildings added
    - other minor bugs fixed


    Installation:
    ---------------
    - extract the archive in a folder
    - copy the folder "machiavello" and "machiavello.cfg" into your Medieval II Total War folder, overwrite previous files

    NOTE: follow these steps either you have installed Bugfixer 5.01 or not.

    IMPORTANT: if you get a ctd at the first start, then delete:
    - machiavello\data\world\maps\base\map.rwm
    - machiavello\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\full\map.rwm
    - machiavello\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\light\map.rwm
    - all the file .string in machiavello\data\text, BUT "strat.txt.string" e "shared.txt.string"

    MACHIAVELLO 5.0
    "Machiavello" 5.0 is a strategic mod for M2TW that update the map to the historical situation of early 15th century (1414, Council of Constance). It presents
    196 regions and 31 fully playable factions.

    M2TW + Patch 1.2
    Compatible with Patch 1.3 and Patch 1.4 (that's Kingdoms)

    FEATURES
    Map:
    - 31 playable factions
    Kingdom of England, Kingdom of France, Union of Kalmar, Holy Roman Empire, Kingdom of Poland, Kingdom of Hungary, Ottoman Empire, Mameluke Sultanate, Marinid
    Sultanate, Kingdom of Castile-Leòn, Kingdom of Aragon, Kingdom of Portugal, Margravate of Brandenburg, Duchy of Milan, Republic of Venice, Republic of Genoa,
    Lordship of Florence, Papal States, Kingdom of Naples, The Golden Hordes, Songhai Empire, Lordship of Ireland, Kingdom of Scotland, Duchy of Burgundy,

    - all islands of the map has been colonized with settlemets;
    - new faction symbols;
    - Nile, Danube, Volga, Mississippi navigable!
    Campaign:
    - Imperial election (instead of the Papal one);
    - Indirect papal election;
    - 2 religion added (protestant and anglican) with buildings;
    - 2 turns per year;
    - new factions' sets (estate, army, victory condition, ...);
    - Settlements promoted to "city" and "castle" with some basic buildings, some already developed;
    - historic family trees added;
    - new historical events added;
    - new event-scripts (rebuilt many historic battles on the map) added;
    - new diplomacy, resources and AI.
    - factions become hordes when defeated;
    - islamic princess;
    - Imperial and Papal taxes (for protestant and catholic factions);
    - statistic recruitment for princesses (for all factions) and inquisitors (for Papal States and iberic factions);
    - Antipope (for italian factions at war with Papal States)
    - New ancillaries, including Heraldry Mod improved;
    - New traits, including BBB, Hephaistos', inflaction, bynames-epithets;
    - Protectionism or Free Trading;
    - Improved Civil War;
    - Rule, get Reputation Points, take control of the Noble Council (with your agents) and avoid Exile or Prison!
    - maintenance costs for settlements, sieges, army in enemy lands;
    - very realistic AOR for all units;
    - new decsr_mercenary;
    - new garrison Script;
    - "demo script" (recruitment make the population to decrease);
    - new guilds, buildings, structures;
    - new loading screens and quotes;
    - provincial campaign with faster turns;
    - auto-save disabled (for faster turns): make many saves!

    - UI Cards for new factions inserted;
    - new maps and symbols.

    LIMITATIONS
    IMPORTANT: the menu could be instable (CTD), expecially when you select more then 6 factions consecutively in Imperial Campaign, or when you go to Custom
    Battle and then return in Imperial Campaign, or vice-versa. I suggest not to waste time in menu, and to play soon.

    Enjoyed the previous version and Im sure this ones great too but 1GB? At filefront? Oh dear....... Sadly I don't understand Italian either, although I may attempt to learn it while waiting for the download.

    If you get a ctd at the first attempt, just:
    - delete all string files in machiavello\data\text, except from strat.txt.string and shared.txt.string
    - delete machiavello\data\world\maps\campaign\base\map.rwm
    - delete machiavello\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\custom\base\map.rwm

    hi all,
    Awsome mod man, it has everything scripts, events many factions loads of settlements, cool map, AoR. etc. I just wish i understood italian to read the events and the role play you have introduced to the game. I do have a question though im playing the moors (merenids) and i'm having a ctd on the year 1421, during the timurids turn, it happened too when i played with the other moorish faction. it doesnt say anytihng on the log file, any ideas?

    Hi Nico,
    I had the same problem too, just reload your last save.

    Remember that auto-save is disabled, but I suggest to save your campaign at every turn, and not to overwrite previous saves, but make always new saves.

    housekeeper, still no way to fix this bug? I keep getting it, i cant play more than 25 turns before it crashes every time, always the same log file. I've been looking into the traits and the acciliaries files but no idea ho to fix it, it says

    : SettlementName needs a settlement

    but they all seem to have the settlements so i dont know, i even tried removing them but it would remove (which i dont really want to do but it still crashes)

    plz look into this it is a BIG bug!

    The log file is ok, these strings are always present
    The year of your ctd is 1426?
    It crashes when you press "end turn" button, or during the passage of the turn?
    And what is the faction turn at which the game stops?

    yes this time it was in 1426 but it varies a little (this has been the longest i've been able to play) it crashes during turn passage, always during the timurids turn.
    This time i was playing as bizantium.

    Wow, looks "estremamente" cool, and I speak Italian, thus I would have no problem with it; but does it run with my non-Italian M2TW? Based on my modding knowledge, I guess so, but anyway.

    Hi,i 've the same problem as Nico...it's a pity cause is a wonderful mod...Housekeeper, may you do something? I even downloaded the bugfixer 5.01 but the problem persist

    hi palestina, while housekeeper works on bug fixing, a quick fix i did was to simply remove the timurids from the game and add very strong rebels in their cities instead, lol altough its not the ideal option it seems to work, i havent had a ctd since.

    PD: remember to always backup what you modify just in case.
