ive found 2 different tests on the net where you fill in some personal details and it gives you a ruff idea, but each one varies in the results.

I am very interested in finding out mine as well. I doubt it would be much, as I have (a very extreme case of) hereditary spherocytosis, but that is also why would like to know my VO2 max.

Determining VO2 cannot be done by a layperson; because it involves measurement of arterial and venous oxygen content, it requires drawing blood from an arterial and venous source. The maximum VO2 requires taxing your system to exhaustion, then drawing blood to determine the value. Thus, you would need to talk to a pulmonary specialist if you really want to determine it.

Mathias, just out of curiosity, have you had a splenectomy to help improve your HS symptoms? Don't answer if you're not comfortable doing so.

I'm perfectly comfortable with it. I had to remove my spleen at the age of 5. By that time I had already had 50 blood transfusions, so you can probably see why I had to remove it so soon. Another reason why I had to remove the spleen at exactly the age of 5 was because I was going to start at pre-school, something which I wouldn't be capable of if I didn't remove my spleen, as my blood percentage could drop so suddenly.
