Gidday people.
I've recently uninstalled Medieval 2 Total War so that I could download a new mod. I had Stainless Steel 4.1 and Ultimate AI mods on my system, but I uninstalled the entire game. The message then came up that some files could not be removed, so for good measure I deleted the SEGA folder and all inside files. While reinstalling I realised I had lost the Medieval 2 Total War booklet and thus the CD key, but I put random numbers and letters between the dashes and the installation continued. However, about halfway through installation before I had the message to change CDs the disc stopped spinning (or at least stopped making any noise) and this message occured a little while after:
Feature transfer error
Component: packs
File: E:\main\packs\data_2.pack
Error: data error (cyclic redundancy check)
OK
After pressing OK the installation quit. TWICE now. All I can gather from that is that a file is failing to transfer to the computer (methinks) and that is has something to do with "cyclic redundancy" which may have something to do with the disk not spinning.
I've gone through all the old Program Files and can't find anything on M2TW remaining and it's gone from the Add/Remove Programs list. Technical buffs, gimme some help here, because I really want to install Broken Crescent!
