    ok, forget the Problem. I find the Problem alone. The FMV ordner must be Copy and paste too, in the CaE 1.4 Data Folder. Its the same thing how in Rise of Kings.

    Remember this if some other german guys ask you for the same problem

    Just a reminder to everyone that the CAE fixers are no longer needed,they are all corporated to the mod's installer.

    Are you positive that you applied the copy paste process correctly,because clicking on the strat agents and getting a CTD afterwards are strictly sound related so here is again a reminder to check whether you've done it right or wrong.Another important factor is where actually your main m2tw folder is located.So here is again how to do it:

    1- C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\sounds(copy the all the content of the sound folder)
    2- C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\CloudsAcrossEurope\data\sounds(this is the directory for them to be pasted)
    3- Events.dat and events.idx are to be deleted.

    Please recheck carefully.

    And about the FMV folder that are related to the movies of assasination,spies etc.it's not necessary and won't cause a ctd.It's for those movies to appear during the mod.So what's your situation now,still getting those character related CTD's?

    Have you made any specific changes so far? Please indicate what patches you have installed,and if any fixers of CAE etc.

    Also go to this directory:

    1-C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War
    2- Find and open the file named CloudsAcrossEurope.cfg
    3-Open it with notepad and find the codes:

    [log]
    to = logs/system.log.txt
    level = * error

    Replace them with this one:

    [log]
    to=logs/system.log.txt
    level=*script* trace

    Save and exit the file,then later anytime you receive a CTD or The CTD,go to this directory:

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\logs and post the contents of the logs.txt file here so I can take a look at it.Anyone that experience the CTDs please do the same.

    Hey Zep,
    I beleive I'm using MTW1.2, I did not use patch 1.1 with it per the instructions. If I remember right I found this wonderful mod at v1.3 and also installed the 1.3 fixer. I now have v1.4 and I can't recall if I installed the 1.4 fixer.

    Also I changed the cfg file so if it happens again I'll post it for you. Thanks.

    Done. But i have after then always CTD´s if if i click on one A.I. charakter. And after i copy the fmv Data from Meideval 2 in CaE 1.4, i don´t have ctd´s

    no, CaE. 1.4 works now carefully, without ctd´s. i Have no Problem now.

    Hi the 1ist thing to say is that the mod is smthing more than unblelievable.2nd question i play the teutonic order and at 1280 it crashes when the faction of portugal is about to play and itried many things 2ndly i started again a camp with TO and it did this again near the same time when the faaction abbasids played i have 1.4a CAE not B just can u figure out anything?THNXXX

    Same problem ...

    Crash problem with me....

    During the passage of the turn simply the scren become black and the only way to exit its pressing "Esc" and i go to the desktop. I had the same problem during the fist campagain, simply the game had crashed on the same end of the turn of the same year, i decided to restart the campaign, and all was ok, but now i have the same problem, a diferent year but the same problem.

    This it what i have done:

    1-Fresh install of mtw2
    2- Update 1.2
    3-CA's patch v1.2
    4-Finally CAE mod 1.4b

    This might be the graphical ui related crash.So are you not able to pass a certain turn? If you had saved it try loading it and passing that turn.

    hello, i just recently reinstalled MTw2 and got the 1.2 patch then CAE v 1.4b and began a game as KOJ. i am only a few turns in but any time i try to enter battle with KOJ i get a CTD. i am able to automatically resolve the battles fine it only happens when i try to "enter" battle.

    i have not tried it in custom battle yet or with any other country. ill edit this when i check those.

    Edit: i tried it with a few other factions and same thing. when i enter the battle after the loading bar finishes i get a CTD. with custom battles it seems to work just fine.

    Apparently you unpacked the files yet didn't delete two specific files that causes CTD prior to enter any battle. In order to solve this CTD,follow those instructions and it will work like a magic.

    Go to this directory:

    1- C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data

    2- Find and delete those 2 files:

    A.geography_new.txt
    B.geography_new.db

    Check for the same files and if they happen to be in this directory,delete them there,too.Normally they aren't uploaded and aren't there tough:

    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\CloudsAcrossEurope\data

    A.geography_new.txt
    B.geography_new.db

    I don't understand all those Ctd reports at all,all that is required is within the mod.Also explain the problem better and check your pm,I can't help you now if you don't reply can I?

    I was trying to install CAE v1.4 and when it was 80% finished the installing process ended and said " CAE could not be finished" or something. Do you know whY?

    sorry that I reported something I thought was a problem with the game, that prevents me from playing it.

    I have read all the thread from page 1 to 9, but i still can't figure if all the fixes and bugs solved during discussions were updated in the downloadable version. Are they? or do I have to fix every one of them separately?
    Secondly, I get a crash too when I play Wallachia at about 10th turn. It's the thing with the overlapping images over the menus and the quit to desktop after immediate end turn. I hope you know what I am talking about.
    Thirdly, I see people complain about similar things at different new factions, could it be possible that when you solve things for let's say Sweden, try and look for the exact errors on every other new faction? because maybe when you modded the stuff, you did the same errors for every faction.
    Finally, nice mod, looking forward for it to get working,

    Hello Horace,yes all the fixes are updated and added to the main upload of the mod,so you don't have to download&install any of the fixes.The same goes for anyone who plays CAE.The lates version CAE v1.4 includes all the essential fixes,so no worries there.

    About this crash,I know what you're talking about.I know the solution thanks to SV of the Sicilian Vespers mod,the problem is I'm not sure of its feasebility due to the new factions are added and vanilla factions aren't converted into new factions.The game doesn't entirely accept the new symbols tga page so that this CTD happens randomly.It's passable though just make sure you let the game to autosave.

    If you refer to the CTD reports,I've made 2 tests sofar one of them I did about 2 weeks ago on CAE v1.4.I played the mongols and have reached the year 1400,without a single CTD.So the key here is to refrain from using any cracked exe's and trying to pay attention to the installation issue such as no patch v1.1,no fixes or mini-mods for CAE etc.

    Yes this issue is the same I mentioned when replying to the former report of you.Thank you for the report it's a known issue.

    There is a possibility that your main m2tw game is installed elsewhere other than the installation directory of programfiles/SEGA..

    So change the installation path of the installer accordingly- check where exactly your m2tw game is installed and set the default installation directory accordingly.

    eg.

    If your game is installed under your games folder :

    C:/Games/SEGA should be your installation directory.The short cut on desktop should be there.But if you can't spot it,try launching the mod by double clicking CloudsAcrossEurope.bat file located under the medieval II total war folder.

    I have found the problem that gives me the CTD when playing wallachia. Every time I look at the properties of the Pirate Ship (by right clicking on it, you know), textures overlap so that instead of an ok button it's a part of the sky and all that. Anything I do after the overlap leads to CTD. I don't know how to fix the problem, i'm just reporting it. Also, try to solve the same thing for every pirate ship in the game (rebel's one, lithuania if they have one ecc.)

    I'd just like to say I experience this same problem. Once the textures change I am at least able to save my game, but after that anything I do leads to a CTD. I am playing as Sweden.
