    Default stakes, some questions

What are the civs that can makes stakes? and are there gunpowder units that can make that?

I read that you can put stakes before a gate, but there are places where you cant put the stakes like a road for instance.
can you put stakes before the gates?

stakes are very good, like the turkish janis archers, strong unit and great range. I think this is the best archer for the reason that they can make stakes to kill cavs and they can kill infantry in melee too.

England, Hungary, and the Turks in Vanilla can lay stakes.

England and the Turks utilize their longbows and Janissaries, so they make for excellent archer units. Hungary, however, uses a less powerful archer unit that's more useful for their stakes than their actual shooting ability.

Not Hungary but Poland. All English longbows (longbows, Yeomen, Retinue), Polish Lithuanian archers and Turkish Janissary archers. + free company longbows (mercenaries).

You can't place them on a road except in cities or castles.

    Gunpowder units can't place stakes.

You can't place them at the end of a bridge either, tried it once and they only appeared left and right of the road.

The Welsh rebel archers can use them too. You should be careful when manouvering your cavalry when close to them tho- they can harm your own cavalry.

In SS more units of other factions have it as well, this is especcially useful as the Templars when facing the Mongols.

As far as I know there are no gunpowder units that can deploy stakes.

Yeah but only if you march fast with cavalry trough the side where the stakes point at, which isnt hard to avoid if u got a small bit of skill.

Even marching with cavalry at high speed in the direction the stakes are facing can be very dangerous. I lost two generals doing that.
