Default Off Topic: Broken Crescent for Mount&Blade

Just wondering if anyone in here also plays Mount&Blade? It's a Medieval Combat simulation with role-playing filled with strategy and tactics started up by a husband and wife team in Turkey.

TWC has sort of a small shared community with Mount&Blade check the link in my sig if you're interested in learning more. But the real thing I was wondering is if the BC team would ever be interested in re-skinning and creating a campaign world for Mount&Blade like they did so beautifully with Medieval 2?

I hope I'm not out of place with this, that's why I put off topic in the thread title. There's a lot of realism and great mods for M&B and I think it would be really cool to see a Broken Crescent version But that of course is just a dream

If you're referring to the download of 123.23 MBytes in the download section of their site, that is actually their whole game.

There are a ton of mods though and that was my point with this thread to see if others would like a Broken Crescent mod for it.

I think it would be really cool to see some of the BC units in M&B especially the elephants, I know someone was working on an elephant, mod but don't know that they ever finished it. Check out the video here

It'd be fairly easy to port equipment over I think, and it would be amazing to play.

just imagine being able to command 40 jan halberdiers, but wait if they made a mod they would have to use the big battle mods I forget what it's called.

Do you think we could get permission to port some models and skins over? I'd love to be able to actually ride into battle as true blue er purple that is... Kataphract

I fail in modding, but i would play it if you would do it
maybe the BC team will just port over the models (just is wrong here, i know its much work) or they give it to some guy able of doin so.

I know someone looking to mod M&B and wanted me to make some suggestions for them. So that's why I ask.

Zeph got me interested in M&B. It's an entertaining piece of software. However I have to admit my interest is starting to drop. Mainly due to there being very little battlefield stratergy other than killing everyone on the field myself and leaving my army to sit on a hill as far away as possible.

As to porting BC, I think it would be almost as much work as starting from scratch. There would be complications due to the fact that every model in BC is based upon a model from M2TW.

    Cheers

just curious what level did you make it to? and did you try any mods? I don't agree that there is less battlefield strategy, but I can see what you mean it tends to be easier when you get to a certain point in the game.

It really need the touch of experienced modders who can breath a lot more depth into the world.

The games simple, true, but its one of the rare Medieval games where you really fight yourself (NOT press any number like in RPGS and they shoot Fireballs)
but AD, you are right, but just get some experienced knights and you will begin to like them that much that you will get sad when one of em dies

I'll say I don't think the fighting mechanics are simple as they actually require some skill. It's closer to a FPS than a hack-n-slash-point-and-click-auto-attack-RPG. The world however maybe simplistic at the moment though, but it's still in development and has progressed with every update.

You're right it is is one of a kind the only thing I can say that comes close to mind is Oblivion, now if M&B had that kind of depth and of course multiplayer it would be really nice.

But really it could stay as simple as it is if it were multiplayer. Good news is we'll get that in M&B2

Like you say it is Good & Win!

Yeah, I played it some time ago and it was amazing! I get very excited at the thought of riding around as a Nakharar, a Kypchak Noble or a Khwarezm...uh...Tank, or maybe going toe to toe as a Khevsur, A Makurian (what are the guys with the huge elephant killing two-handers?) or a Ghaznavid Axeman.

THe gameplay is simplistic, but it is a totally revolutionary idea that you can fight in battles realistcally. I always liked making my guy an elite nomad warrior. Pepper the enemy with my Khergit bow a couple times and ride in and hack them to pieces.
