Alright fellow freaks, time to fess up! With Conan on the horizon and NWN2 going mental, what RPG are you into?

Sadly, I haven't been satisfied by a DnD game in forever. (since the 90's) And I don't expect to be any time soon.
I, however, have been trying to find a group that actually plays DnD around here.

Hey, if it ain't Boeing I ain't going...![]()
I played AD&D obsessively from 1984-1989 or so. At school recess and lunch with our Ancient History teacher as DM, and frequently after school at friends houses.
A couple of us became quite adept at drawing massive, complicated and very detailed fantasy maps for our campaigns (and even just for fun).
Those were the days......
The local games shop asked me to join an AD&D group, but I said "Meh, I'm too old, don't know if I could get back into it."
Haven't played paper D&D since I was 9 years old. You need friends to do that. I've played most AD&D-based PC games from Baldur's Gate onward. I used to be a ****ing Thief, as I recall. Better to learn real thievery and so improve your material status in the world, or to learn real fighting skills than to be a Fighter and so be able to beat up strangers, or to learn real sleight-of-hand instead of being a Magic-User and so have an alternate career as an illusionist available to you.

Yup, I play DnD.
You heard it kids, Mocker plays DnD.
Now you can become half as awesome as me!
currently playing a Warhammer RPG campaign, from times to tiles...
I'm just into Neverwinter Nights.
I dont play DnD, but i like the video games.
And i play Warhammer, so thats probably just as bad.
I wouldnt mind playing some DnD as long as it wasnt took really seriously..
I like RPGs, but only the computer and rocket launcher type. RPG board games are too slow for me.
I loved the Baldur's Gate series. Icewind Dale was good too. Too bad the creator no longer exists... they are such fun games. Its like 3rd person tactics game meets the magic and roleplaying of DnD. A bonus is how you can play with friends or by yourself.
I've played a couple of times, but it always came off as awkward and not at all fun. I'd rather stick to the PC games.
Off topic: Tenacious D wannabes are hillarious.
But sad.
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.

I will admit to playing D&D and AD&D. It came out while I was in high school. I bought the original white cardboard box with the little books. And then later, in college, I played a few times with the new DM guide and Monster Manual and stuff. I stopped playing long before the 2nd edition came out, and I hear there is now a 3rd and a 4th edition?
I never really got into the Neverwinter Nights PC games and other derivatives.
Age of Conan, though, I'm interested in trying. I grew up reading Howard's books. I applied for the beta recently.

Excellent my fellow Hyborian! See the magic of D&D requires (IMHO) good friends, junk food... lots of caffeinated drinks.. maybe a pizza .. but above all the collaborative effort it takes to get 4-6 players across the final end game where they have been challenged on every conceivable level. (no pun intended).
I had the privilege of playing with Honors and PHD degreed friends, good socially well adjusted people . The relationships built back in the 80's during my D&D halcyon days will live with me forever.
