Well here's another go for me at a horse...


I used this image as reference for the horse and body of the rider:

I wanted to do something different than westros this time and I've been really wanting to try my hand at elephants. So this comes after 4 days of painfully looking all over Google, yahoo, and elsewhere for Medieval War Elephants. I will tell you there's not very many!!! So finally I came up with my own idea based on some Mughal paintings (late 15-18 century) and a of a later interpretation of Kublai Khan's elephant escort.

Alright I way overworked this one. I used a single source this time a reenacter, but I was unhappy with it so I keep erasing as you can tell .. but never the less here it is anyway

Originally this was going to be a knight on a horse then I decided to scratch the horse cus I couldn't find a good picture to reference and i know the shading isn't the best, but I got tired of working on it so here you go...

For this one I referenced a photo of a reanactor for the helm and coif, for the clothing and arms I referenced two medieval paintings of a crossbow man and foot soldier.

Alright I was sorting through some stuff while in the process of moving and I came across some old school drawings from my earlier days. Yes I was into the pencil & paper game that required all those funny sided dice

Cool drawings. The only thing i would critizise is the feet in some of them that look "open", like that>JL. Still very good stuff.

Yeah especially the crusader one...just looks off and a bit arkward. I really liked the last few fantasy ones and 2nd pic with the war elephants, really nice.

Pretty cool stuff.

I do know, but if you read my main post I wanted a place to organize my art. I've also posted there as well.

Well since I've been busy with a move I haven't had much time to draw, but one thing I have had time to do is dig up more old works so I've updated the Old School section of the main post (bottom) with another one from my fantasy era.

Hey thanks and yeah his feets may be a little opposed haha... but I'm surprised no one commented on the elephant proportions? Do they look right to you? I kind think they may be too short?

Thanks a lot guys for the encouraging words. With BC's release and a personal move I kinda let the fire go out for bit, but I'm itching to start back up again now that I have drawing space to work at home.

@seleukosart - I do plan on making bigger scenes I was recently inspired by the likes of [USER]Xeres2665[/USER] and [USER]Severloh[/USER] in the area of capturing a scene. So hopefully soon I will update this gallery with something new.

Ok all, I just updated my gallery with a new attempt at horse and rider (see June 7th addition.) Feel free to critique it to hell!

They're cool, I like the way you draw those horses, but I think you should make them a little taller

I was thinking maybe the horse was a little small now that I look at it from my the perspective of my computer screen, I'm not sure of the breed and I think I may have made it a bit skinny? for sure the head.
