overall the first episode was a whole lot better then i thought it would be,anyone else have thoughts?

the graphics were on par with the movies, the action seems promising for the future episodes, only thing i dislike is the story on how its different from the films.

You can't just come in here and start talking about a television series that (perhaps) most of us haven't even heard of.

If you dont know what it is then why are you posting in a thread about it?

Anyway yeah I agree it is suprisingly better then I expected, maybe expectations were low or seeing how horrible the Bionic Woman was had something to do with it. There is some nitpitcking obviously but overall the first two shows were promising enough to make me keep watching. Summer what her name who is playing the "good" terminator manages to pull it off, she was great in Firefly too. The action sequences have been pretty good and while its network tv the violence isnt watered down, the blood spray from the terminator killing the guy in the garbage dump, the rather brutal car smashing into Cameron (which her response was absolutely top notch) etc.

John is annoying, I swear we've had two movies and now a tv series and not one of the versions of John Conner makes me think he'll go on to save mankind..he comes off as a whiny smartass jerk in T2,a drugged out whiny jerk in T3 and just a whiny ass in the series. No one can replace Linda Hamilton as Sarah but actress they have filling the roll certainly isnt embarrassing herself.

One thing I hope they avoid like the plague is any stupid romantic thing between Cameron and John...yeah being teenager he is going to end up falling for hot little cyborg in order to remain true to the series it can never happen. Biggest flaw so far and I hope they have an explainations....how does the first terminator from ep1 get teleported when his skin was completely fried off? Inorganic items cant be set back/forward into time, his outer skin was gone....the series even hits upon it...its why Cameron says someone was sent back to build the weapon and machine (the weapon and the clothes of all three dont teleport either) Im hoping they explain it.

imo i think that role of a whingy kid is fitting due ot the fact he doesnt want the responcabilty to save mankind,a superhero complex if you will.i think in the next installment of films they show the john connor that is on par with john McClane

Yeah but my point is we've seen this side of him now thru 2 movies and now the beginning of the series. It is just getting a bit old...atleast give us brief moments of his character and makeup of what he will become

Hehe it would just be lame

Yeah maybe I missed something but the head was in the same area they appeared in on the highway so how else could it have gotten there? Also there is the whole thing that no head=terminated terminator and since these models (again based on the timeline...Im a geek I know it) would be inferior tech wise from Arnold, t-1000 and one in T3 not sure how that works either. As I know its nitpicking because I really did enjoy the first two shows its probably why I even bothered to notice. Newsday did a great review of the show pointing out they could have gone two ways, Terminator action from start to finish type show or basically soap opera Terminator (think one of WB's lame teen shows) but instead went the third option of balance, good character development, flow and action that fits the storyline.

the terminator of this series is a t-888 or 880(either one i suppose) perhaps it has some special features IE resvered power supply in his head keeping it active for a bit, enough to do self repair etc.thats just me guessing. his model seems to be beefed up with armor aswell. and this series is cannon from the movies,so ive read.and the next film(will be set for another trilogy) follows the tv series timeline and not that of T3 timeline that didnt accure.

Yeah, the whole reluctant hero thing is definately a little old... and not just in this franchise either.

I missed the second episode, but the first was a stinking pile of human-mind, fecal matter. When I saw the terminator cut into his leg to pull out a pistol (because apparently... I can't even think of something funny to say here. It was just stupid.) then start chasing around John Connor like a raging bull without a neck, I got up and walked away.

I mosied back around the time of the "You better holster those things." line, wandered away and came back in time for John to offer his cyborg-hottie companion a chip. Sensing the scene's nature as some kind of awkward romantic-but-not-yet-bonding kind of a thing, I finally walked away for good.

If anybody here seriously thinks they're not going to try pushing a romantic issue with John and Hottie Model 101... well... wow.

If I ever watch this series again, it's because Summer Glau is a smoking hottie.

Looking forward to watching it. I recorded it so I'll probably check it out tomorrow. For those that don't know about the show, it's a new T.V. series on Fox based on the Terminator movies, focusing on Sara and John Connor. I think it takes place in between the 2nd and 3rd Terminator movies.

Don't know too much about the story but I know that another Terminator has been sent to kill John Connor and of course, the human resistance was able to send one of their own to protect him.

It got reviews so it should be good.

The first episode was awful, the dialog felt like it had been written by this guy

The second episode was much better though and the action sequences are definitely well done.

It looked p. bad to me, so I skipped it in favor of watching movies on TBS with my wife and my mom, who happened to be visiting. I did bring up the show, and they both seemed to agree that it looked not watchable.

I missed the second episode, so I my be wrong, but I think the they are working from the concept that Skynet is nearly inevitable. Every time they kill off one way that it is created, another way pops up. That's what happened in the Terminator movies anyway.

The second episode definitely made up for any "Piloty" flaws the first one had.

All in all I thought it was pretty good, so i'll be tuning in next week as well.

If the writers manage to keep the good work up for the rest of the season then the writers for all those other shows that are on strike right now are going to be angry to say the least.

You'll be pleased to know that the producers have pretty much stated that they've adopted a "T3? What's that?" attitude for the show. It's going to be based more on the "classical" concepts of Terminator as defined by the first and second movies more than anything else.

I can't take network action dramas seriously. The acting is terrible.
