Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.
In serbian sources she is mentioned as Ana or Anka, but that doesn't prove anything since names often get "naturalized" (in the lack of a better term). Stefan Uros IV's wife, Bulgarian princess Elena, is written down as Jelena in all Serbian sources. If she was mentioned as Anca in Wallachian sources, than we should use that name...
Bai alt mod in care apare vreo tara romaneasca in afara de cae exista?
* Hope no problem that i replied in Romanian.

Finally a mod with Valahia! Finally some thanks for centuries of keeping the dreaded turks out of Europe and defending Christendom. From what i've read this mod looks amazing and i cant wait to play it, thanks guys!
About the name: Wallachia, is better know as Ţara Românească
Cities: the most important cities XIV century were: Târgovişte (the capital of the country beginning with Mircea the Old, also a stone fortress(Curtea Domneasca) was built here at the end of XIV century), Craiova (the most important city in Oltenia, in 1345, just a little town), Arges(the capital of the country until cca.1396, the seat of the Metropoly of Ungrovlahia) Tara Romaneasca since 1359) , Brăila ( port on the Danube, an important (maybe the greatest) comercial center for Walachia), Severin (a fortress disputed between Wallachia and Hungary), Poienari and Cetatenii, Oratia (castles in the mountains to the north of Arges and Camplulung), Chilia - Licostomo(two different towns on the same region, the first held by Wallachia, the second by Genoa)
Economy: rich in Wheat, Grape Vine(on the northen part of Wallachia), sheeps, cattles, apiary, fishing (mostly on Danube)
iron - Baia de Fier in Mehedinti county, copper - Baia de Aramă in Mehedinti, salt - Ocnele Mari in Valcea county, Slanic and Teleaga in Prahova County, Ocna Mică near Tragoviste

We are going to use native names, so we will either use Teara Romaneasca or Tara Romaneasca.
We already have a list of cities; right now the biggest help we need is with heraldry, specific information on armies (beyond "oastea cea mare" and "oastea cea mica") and maybe some good images of Wallachian soldiers or warriors.
This is first time I see Wallachia with Blac Sea accesion. So I wonder from what period is the map you presented? And for how long and in what years did Wallachia had Blac Sea coastline? And is it right to call that piece of coastline Wallachian, because for major most of the time I think it belonged to Bulgaria (either independent, or under Byzantine/Turkey occupation), well at least all the maps present such a situation. My knowledge when it comes to this region in medieval times is restricted so I count on specialist voice in here
The map is presenting Wallachia during the rule of Mircea the Old(1386-1418)(my namesake). Wallachia ruled the Bujak region from cca. 1340 until 1392, when, Mircea ceded this region to his relative, the Voievod of Moldova,Roman I.
About Dobruja(Dobrogea), that area was ruled by Dobrotitsa, Despot of Karvuna, a Bulgarian-Vlach principality. In 1388, Ivanko, Dobrotitsa's son was killed during a battle with turks, and Karvuna was put under Mircea the Old rule. In 1420, Mircea's son, Mihail I, died during a battle with the turks and Dobruja was lost to Ottomans until 1878.
Could you tell a bit more about Bulgarian-Vlach Principality, or send me to a good article about it, because this seams very interesting BTW, could you visit my topic about Kingdom of Poland in TTW here and give me your opinion about Polish accents in Moldova that I presented?
And some images about soldiers of Wallachia and Moldova
I think that I should have scanned those images to a better resolution

On the military of Tara Romneasca and Moldova
The army of the two states was organized into Oastea cea Mare and Oastea cea Mica
Oastea cea Mare was recruited when in times of critical danger for the state. It was expected that every man capable of using a weapon will participate. In this army were recruited peasants(incl. serfs - named Rumâni in Wallachia and Vecini in Moldova), craftsmen, tradesman. They were armed with bows, spears, axes, pitchforks, scythes, and few rugged swords. They usualy had no armour, although some had padded armour (leather, wool, scrap cloth). For protection they had only wooden shields. The Oastea cea Mare was an effective fighting force until XVI century, when more and more people became extempt, the use of fire weapons grew.
Possible categories of forces:
- Razesi(Moldova) or Mosneni(Wallachia)(armed with spears or pitchforks, scythes, no armour w. shield, Very cheap, low morale, good ambusher, bonus vs cavalry) - razesi and mosneni are the free peasants, they are the most numeros group of peasants up until XVII c.
- Razesi(Moldova) or Mosneni (Wallachia) (armed with a simple bow, no armor w. shield, and a short axe as a melee weapon. Very cheap, low morale, good ambusher)
- voinici(Wallachia and Moldova)(armed with a good bow and a sowrd, they have a shield and padded armour, Cheap, good morale, good ambusher) - they represent those peasants that are richer
Mircea...some idea for regional romanian unit of transilvania...???
Sorry for my bad english!
Oastea cea Mica was the regular army of the two states. It was mainly recruited from the social category of nobility(Boyars in Moldova and Wallachia). They were mainly mounted soldiers armed with bows, swords, maces, spears. For protection they had iron shields, helmets (cervelliere or barbute), chain mail with or w/out cuirass or even full plate armour (like the case of Radu I of Wallachia who in 1377 ordered 10.000 sets of full plate armour from Venice). Also here we find the mercenaries.
Possible categories of forces:
- cetele marilor boierilor or slugile(cavalry and infantry) (armed with bow and sword, chain mail, shield and helmet, moderate cost, good morale, fast) - they represent the retainers of boyars
- curteni (cavalry and sometimes infantry) (armed with bow and sword, chain mail, shield and helmet, moderate cost, good morale, fast, disciplined) - they represent the lower boyars, the were administrators of the country during peacetime
- Viteji(Moldova only) (infantry armed with spear, sowrd, chain mail, shield and helmet, moderate cost, good morale, disciplined) - were those peasants that showed courage in battles and for these they were made boyars, some sources talk about viteji in Wallachia too.
- Boieri (Cavalry only armed with spear, sword or mace, chain mail and cuirass, shield and helmet, expensive, very good morale, armored)
- Garda Domnului (Cavalry only armed with spear, sword or mace, plate armour, shield and helmet, very expensive, excellent morale, armored, unarmoured horse)
Mercenary forces (lefegii in Wallachia or joldunarii in Moldova)
- Hânsari or husari (cavalry only Cavalry only armed with spear, sword, cuirass, shield and helmet, very expensive, very good morale, armored) - recruited from Balkans and Hungary
- lancieri (western style knights) - recruited from Balkans and Poland
- lefegii or joldunarii pedestrasi (infantry armed with sword, shield chain mail, helmet, very expensive, good morale, armored)
- darabani (infantry armed with crossbow later fire weapon, sword, shield chain mail, helmet, very expensive, good morale, armored) - they were recruited from Transylvania
These are all excellent images. I'll be sure to copy them over to the developers thread. I have seen images of those chain shirts previously, but I'm lacking in images from historic documents, monasteries etc.
So far we have these units already in for Wallachia. It would be nice to cross-reference these:
1) Vecini (peasants, essentially)
2) Mosieni/Mosneni (sword-armed footmen)
3) Viteji (light cavalry, armed with sabres and either a bow or javelins).
4) Boieri Mari (bodyguard)
5) Boieri Mici (heavy cavalry)
6) Dismounted boieri
7) Ciobani (shepherd archers, as used at the battle of Posada etc.)
8) Mosieni archers (better equipped archers, armored in chainmail)
9) Arbalest marksmen (mentioned in the Chronicles of Wawrin and others)
10) Cuman Horsearchers
11) Cuman heavy cavalry
12) Buzduganieri (macemen)
13) Străjeri (town watch)
14) Armaşi (Professional guards)
15) Voinici (Voiniks etc.)
16) Hussite War Wagons
I'm wondering, does anyone here live in Bucharest? I know they have a military museum there with an armory. I visited it previously, but because I live abroad, I probably won't be able to go there and get some pictures any time in the near future. If anyone has the time and resources, getting images from there would greatly help us.

Wallachia had Blac Sea accesion north of Danube river(see map in link below)
Here is it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Karvuna
Principality of Karvuna- "...The principality was spun off from the Second Bulgarian Empire[2]) and placed itself ecclesiastically under the Patriarchate of Constantinople (followed by other frontier regions of Bulgaria such as Vidin and Velbuzhd) around 1320 under Balik (member of the Bulgarian-Cuman dynasty of Terter according to some authors..."
So the decision to make Dobruja rebel, at the beggining of the mod... is close enough to historic events in that period.
