Which CPU is the best for RTW

Which is the best cpu for RTW in a custom battle for max number of soldiers?

Intel Q6600
Intel E6750
or,
Adm Phenom

My cpu is Pentium 4 530, 3.6 GHz overclocked.

If the number of soldier is above 6000, my pc begins non-fluently in game.

I will buy a new pc, which cpu and motherboard ideal for RTW?

E6750. I don't think RTW takes advantage of any multi-threaded programming, so the speed of the Dual core will out perform the Quads. The quad is more future proof though, in as much as any PC can be considered so..
I know the P4's were not the finest chips out there, but are you sure it is not a GPU limitation?

just buy the quad core, if you know how to overclock there is no point getting the dual core when most newer games are multithreaded just for a couple of hundred extra MHz.

If i'm not mistaken there is a limit to the RTW engine so even if you have the best hardware it wont be fully utilized. With that said a Q6600 would be the best choice if your budget allows as it's more future proof. But keep in mind Intel will be launching a number of new chips towards the end of the month and even more in February/March. If nothing else wait for the chips at the end of the month as may drive prices down of current chips.

I'd go with the Intel E6750 Conroe, if only because it's such a great value. RTW doesn't utilize dual core technology yet but almost certainly will in future editions. I think the TW series taking advantage of quad core is probably a ways off still. JMO If you do go with the E6750 make sure you choose a mobo capable of 1333Mhz FSB....
