No More Princesses?
Okay I have "beat" the grand campaign and opted to continue playing until I take over the world...but I have a problem...I have a few generals I would like to marry to make them loyal again but I have several princesses that just came of age however I did not get a scroll about it and when I right click their photo to try and find what city they are in nothing happens...does the game quit supplying you with princesses after a certain time? I noticed that the other factions had princesses running all over the map early in the game and I think I have only had 3-4 on the map the entire game...so is this a bug or what?

Re: No More Princesses?
well that explains a lot..now I really wish the game let you pick your next heir...I always thought that instead of the gaming automatically picking your heir you should get to choose...even in Rome when you could change who was the heir....oh well....thanks!

Re: No More Princesses?
Zadith, I couldn't agree with you more. This is the one beef I really have with this game. I mean, it's totally illogical that a "son" I've adopted into the family gets choosen as the heir, rather than the son of the last King. It's pretty stupid, actually. So I've resigned myself to only "adopting" sons into the family unless I've actually got a princess to marry him off to. I wish someone would come out with a mod so that you could choose the heir. *sigh* And I hate those generic princess faces! They make my family tree look so ugly. Ugh.

Re: No More Princesses?
I just love how when my king dies his 3rd cousin twice removed becomes king while my king that just died has 4 sons with children and they are the greater generals....doesnt make sense....

Re: No More Princesses?
This is weird. If only the oldest of my King's sons is of age as the king becomes so, he is always selected as the heir. I've never seen a jump throughout the family tree, unless my King had two sons and one died in battle while the next round the second got assassinated.
What I must say as a person kinda interested in Medieval period, it was very uncommon that a far cousin of the King takes his throne instead of his son. Firstly, the son would likely enter an open revolt and start a civil war for the throne.
If at all the option of changing heirs was be available, it would have to cause serious random loyalty shifts with all generals and the heir should have his loyalty downed by 90%. Such an action should cause a rebellion with a notable probability.
A throne is not something that can be passed to people without notice like a pair of pijamas. Someone once designated, in a traditional way, as the potential successor to the Kingdom is not at all likely to give it up, even if his King of a father feels like it. History has seen it happen that the denounced successor began a civil war or seriously tried to take the throne back.
Also, it is possible that the heir is being chosen by his traits that increase authority. It is highly possible that a King choses the most respected and noble person around just to avoid giving the Crown to someone who wouldn't have the acceptance of the Nation.
Still, it shouldn't happen that the crown jumps through 'cousinship' to another branch of the family whil the immediate successors are 'valid' for the station. And I didn't notice it happen, maybe once because my King's only son was mentally retarded, ingorant and whatnot, judging by his traits.

Re: No More Princesses?
Maybe you can edit the text files to activate heir-choosing?I think it's almost same engine and data as R:TW

Re: No More Princesses?
I have NEVER had any of my king's sons take the throne...it is always some off the wall relative that should be the furtherest from the throne....really retarded....sometimes the kings brother will take the throne while my king has 2 sons of age and have been active in my wars....just doesnt add up....

Re: No More Princesses?
Last night I got another adoptee named as heir to the throne, while my king already had two sons of age, and neither of them were choosen. Does anyone know how the game chooses heirs?
