Problem with PS2 slim.

I've bought secondhand PS2 slim on Xmas ,but I've got problem playing Fahrengeit
it played 3-4 hours and then can't load futher.
Fahrengeit disk is in perfect condition ,so I think it is PS2 problem.
I don't know much about PS2,I'd one long before.
What can I do - is it possible to change CD-reader on PS2 or something
in order to get it to normal ?
PS Black just plainly doesn't work but CD has many scratches
Silent Hill 4 which worked on my old big PS2 doesn't work either
Some games work though,yet I'd like play Black and Fahrengeit.

By the sounds of it the person who sold it was selling for a reason, it wasn't working and it was out of warranty. This is a tricky one solve, you can’t just go out buy any old slim line DVD drive and pop it in, and you need to find out what make and ideally the model number the drive is in your PS2 which means take the case apart.

Your better of finding a Playstation fan site and asking there, they would have a better idea of where you can find replacement parts. You have nothing to lose by calling Sony and asking them what you need.

Well,thank you for reply .I've bought it in EB Games shop .
So I'd ask them to replace it.
I needed it in rush for a friend who got in hospitale,when he is out I'd try to exchange it.
