c. The most important-why are units faction specific-The men of inclination at this time used every resource and recruited men of all types for personal use-If there was a type of soldier in one factions retinue that worked other factions imitated this as needed. Should not all unit types be available to all factions. The difference was training and experience-something missing from the version-it is called copycatting. Common of this period to excess. The experience clause of this version is somewhat lacking. I like the original MTW for this reason because you could have an unit of Crossbowmen attain a morale of 18 via experience-in 2 this is not possible. Anyone see 'Alatriste'(Grace take the man whom told us of this film). These men were 'gods' of war or 'dogs' as it were.
d. also important-sapping was more widely used at this time than in Roman times. The Romans were more apt and inclined to go over walls than the Medieval man, whom was more apt to circumvent the walls-used tunneling, trenches(for cannon and yard shots), and explosives to get into a castle or city.
e. Cavalry cannot mount or dismount in battle or even before, taking up valuable space in the EDU.
F. definitely a better and long-lasting sieging system-WHOSE idea was that to make it that you could take a settlement center and win..........................??????????????????????????????????????????????
g. Continuity.......................Why are regions so limited and not regionally specific. Where is Picardy, Brabant, Savoy, or even more Swiss Cantons?
My list of complaints could go on and on and on and on ad infinitum.
CA says they observe history. In reading Contamine, I find this to be to the contrary. I have found this version incomplete. I would love the opportunity to rework the core program.
