America never appears

I recently got all the way to the end of the Med 2 campaign with Venice, and America never showed up. I thought at some point it was just supposed to appear.

Anyone else have a problem with it?

You get an event, like gunpowder and the mongols, then you can build a ship and sail across. Happens around 1400 if memory serves.

I remember an event saying the world is round about 1400...but since then, I've not able to sail my caracks out west. America never shows on the world map, I can't even scroll over there.

Like others said you need to "discover it". You cant click way out into the darkness. You can only click in visible water and as you progress it reveils more water and thus you can progress. It takes quite some time to get over there. A bit too long if you ask me but it is fun. Of course you can always turn off fow and go take a look.

hey thanks a lot guys, I was worried I wasn't going to get to see the Aztecs. Which would have sucked cause I've really been looking forward to that part.

be sure you take a LOT of men..the Aztecs are pretty tough for being "outdated"..

Be prepared to get ambushed a lot by Aztecs, there's nothing but forests over there.
