Well, this is almost perfect. =) I have a preview of new CoA, but will be able to finish it only tomorrow...

Do a favour and create new one for Pope too... BTW, are they perfectly in the center? =\

How's it? =) I will try different colours later.

"so I'm thinking about to add only a few permanent forts and to disable the buildable forts..."

If you do that, the AI won't use the permanent ones and your stuck not being able to build any, that's no fun '-)

Is it possible to build a new agent..based on spy..lives a million years..has a zillion subterfuge points..and ZERO movement..

THEN you could have permanent placed forts and buildable non-perrmanent forts.

I like the new coats of arms and all the work you've done with forts, Wolfslayer. The only thing is, the blue banner with the red and yellow square for Sicily seems to be too many colors at once. Is it possible you could put the 3-legged icon by itself, without the multi-colored square?

Also, to KK, if it ends up working fine, will permanent forts be included in 6.0?

At some point (probably not this week because I have exams) I plan on adding the crusader forts to the map for Crusades campaign to see how it works, since they seem to work in battle.

Nice... But I would change the blue outline into black - just reduce brightness or saturation on it.

How's my CoA? I will present different versions, like I done before, later.

Maybe you'll add some outline to Sicilian banner icon?

KK would be shocked what this thread has become - the Italians' recoating and rebannering. =) And he views it now to find something about forts. =\

    Hi wolfslayer,

Nice job with all your new coat of arms! You are really a multi-tasking talent.
I have also made the genoese symbol as yours, but to me it looked a bit too small when the camera is zoomed out...

But now back to topic: You said somewhere that there would be 'hope' as said that there are only permanent or non-permanent forts available, but not both at once. Any news on this?

Anyway, I guess it's not possible to have both, so I'm thinking about to add only a few permanent forts and to disable the buildable forts...:hmmm:

    Hi Echad,

    Very nice sicily symbol!
Could be worth to include it into the next version...

ok, sorry if I'm dumb, but I don't get it. So is it possible to have both, permanent stone forts and buildable wooden forts, or not?
Those pics above show only the stone forts but no wooden forts...:hmmm:

A clear answer would be appreciated

No, he said he can put 2 different kind of forts, one of them is pre-built and the other is build by general. So it is possible to have stone fort pre-build and wooden fort to be build by general, but they will be both permanent or both non-permenant, not one permanent and the other non-permenant. Maybe with the power of scripting (or further testing on the fort setting). Is it possible to use scripting to spawn units (just right after rebels turn) if the pre-build 'fort' is empty and setting the ownership of the spawned unit to be the region holder? Of course the spawned unit have to be the lowest class.

    Kool

i like the papal states very much, although i think the previous one of genoa was better than the one above.

hmmm, not so satisfied with the venician symbol
and i love the Sicilian flag. The only thing that bothers me is that there are too many colors. maybe changing blue to white or skin color.

if you put red or yellow then it will mix with the flag but if you make it white or skin color then it won't add a new color (since it has some in the flag) and it won't mix itself either
"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Crusades stone_fort_a is up on a hill. Looks like a challenge...

This is largest fort next to ME_fort_a, that has the placement bug, so I replaced ME with this..

Way up here you can see the coastline of Sicily.

Genoa with Echad's new colors; my earlier design is too wide, if I make it smaller you can barely see it.

Cool thing about stratmap textures is you don't have to exit the game to edit; just tab out, do changes, save, and they show up when you reenter the stratmap.

Never repeat edit a dds or texture file, always use a targa master image and save as a targa before you save as a dds/texture.

The image will degrade since a DXT recompresses every time you resave it, and it loses image data..

    Awesome. Beautiful. Wonderous...

Wow, you've done much better, than I expected!

Only thing that bothers me is Genoese symbol blending in... I will post a file with different Sicilian CoAs in a minutes, here are the source images for Zena:

    http://www.crwflags.com/FOTW/FLAGS/it-genoa.html
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genoa

Maybe you will make their gongalone like the official version?

This, it will look pretty nice, especially if you smooth it a lil' bit to remove the .gif compression artifacts... Of course, only the St. George and the Dragon, and not everything arund 'em - seems you have become pretty good at cutting out images and alpha layers. =)

BTW, how do you like my preffered choice for Papacy colours? Red 200, green 200, blue 155, instead of all set to 239 in vanilla?

    This is alternate.

Are you talking about the stratmap banner for that?
