    ..."wood keep"

I was reading some threads of all the attempts to make stone forts buildable,

so I did a few of my own tests...and I got my general to build this, knowing the Byzantine army close by would attack on the next turn (thanks to Lusted's AI).

Definitely cooler than the little wooden deathtrap fort.

Don't ask me how I did it yet, I have to backtrack my steps; it might be upgradeable to stone using the "variant" tag in *.worldpkgdesc...

Not preplaced on the strat map , but built in realtime.

    Fort besieged on stratmap...

Fort on the Battlemap: Infantry on the wall and cavalry testing the gate animation...

    More details later..

I'm going to sit out the siege until the Byzantines attack and then see if the towers work.

I built another one in the desert; I won't know how this is going to work until I get attacked, if the fort is going to bloom green grass and coniferous trees in the desert, or if it just crashes...

Not sure about the 'reality' part of building stone forts as you go. Do they vanish when you leave? Proparly would be better if they were permanent additions to the map, that way we could have more cities on the map and use stone forts to replace some of the castles, as many such are only there for campaign balance.

    Nice work though

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

How come that ur siege looks different? Is that in SS? Or did you modify that yourself? How did you get it?

yeah that seige graphic or whatever looks really cool. same with the forts - i was never a fan of the old models.

and do your forts disappear as per usual when you leave them?

One step closer to building stone forts!
Is it possible to limit the number of forts in a province? I mean so that you can only build like 2 forts per province?

The mod that changes the siege look is called Little Mod:

The siege looks different because of a little mod someone posted in this forum that also changed the way trade ships look. I searched but can't find it. If anyone knows where it is please leave a link

WOW! Awesome work dude! But do they disappear after you leave them? Would be a bit odd for a massive stone fort to vanish overnight! If so can you make them permament?
