    Default Favourite Army/Armies

It's said that Caesar had his favourite legion: Legio X
do u guys have a favourite army, or armies that's been with u on many a campaign probably with silver chevrons, or even gold?
i have 4 such armies commanded by 3 family members and 1 general, in my sicily Vh/vh campagin: 1 for each theatre of war.
the first, i dub the Army of Spain, is a veteran of the first crusade on jerusalem. as their name suggests, they're currently stationed in spain, taking on the moors and the spaniards/portuguese. commanded by my best general with 5 command stars, the army is composed of:
    1 generals' unit
5 units of norman knights, xp: 3
6 units of dismounted norman knights, xp:1
6 units of muslim archers, xp: 1
    2 units of cannons/trebuchets

the 2nd army: the Army of Sicily is also a veteran of the first crusade, same complement as the army of spain. they've just taken sardinia from the milanese....

the 3rd army (Army of Greece) commanded by a family member is en route to constantinople to raid the city. same complement as above. fresh fish.

the 4th army (Antiochian Guard) is in antioch and acts sorta like a home guard, rather than an assault army. commanded by the general, not a family member, i have 5 merc knights, with 1 xp, 4 pavise crossbowmen, and 4 italian spear militia, comfortable in the city, while the city churns out merchants, $$$, and spies....

so whats your favourite army complement? where's it been? and where is it stationed now?
pls provide screenies. the impressive ones deserve rep of course

Well, in my England campaign, I had a eight star general called Nicholas, who was also the heir to the English throne.

He was responsible for conquering France, most of Milan,Wales, and Scotland. He was given the title of Grand Crusader a few years before he died, and had conquered most of Europe with an army consisting of
    -5 English spearmen
    -4 Longbowmen
    -2 Mailed Knights
    -2 Trebuchets
-2 Armored Swordsmen and Dismounted Feudal Knights

He has also won several battles against full stack Milanese armies, I kid you not.

I dont have a screenshot provided since this particular England campaign took place a year ago.

The Milan that I fight in my GCs usually throws armies of catapults + crossbowmen at me, with *few* armoured sergeants or italian militia (2-4 units of these total for an army!). I'm capable of reducing such armies to spearmen ONLY with my General's unit ALONE. Sure it's an AI glitch, but then not my fault, say hello to CA .

I played a turkish game where a small amry of 1 general, 1 ballista, 3 sipahis and 2 turkomans wreaked havok all over the russian steppes.

Took 5 territories, 3 rebel and 2 russian waiting until 1-2 units of militia were created in each before moving on.

Initially it was just a scouting force to see how strong the russians were and see if the poles had entered the steppes but things just seemed to gather momentum from there.

    Much fun
Hit them as hard as you can, as fast as you can, where its going to hurt them the most..... and preferably when theyre not looking!

My favourite army would be my Mongol crushing Turkish army commanded by my heir Ahmed ad-Dawlah: 8 command, 9 loyalty, 9 dread, 7 piety, 4 exp. It consists of:

    3 Saracen Militia, 7 exp
2 Janissary Heavy Infantry, 5 exp
    2 Janissary Archers, 6 exp
    4 Qapukulu, 7 exp
2 Sipahi Horse Archers, 6 exp

This baby was able to take down two and a half stacks of Mongols without losing more than a quarter of its strength in an open field battle.

Playing as HRE 1146AD (Pro Deo et Rege mod) led by my Heir Prinz Paul...The Liberation Army of the Empire, (created for a crusade) 3 Crusader Knights 2 Mounted sgts, 3 crusader sgts ,3 X-bow militia, 3 Dismt'd Mailed Knights, 3 AOR Polish strzcly (sp?), 2 Men-at-Arms, now stationed @ Constantinople after taking it on crusade from the Turks

note; PDER mod has an area of recruitment feature (AOR) and an "Era" feature that you can't get better armored units until that type of armor appears in the game via event, also, the Holy Order Chapter House recruitment is disabled until the actual founding date of the order (for Teutonic Knights it's 1180 IIRC)
