Installation with sound but blank screen???

Just installed this on a new laptop, and when i try and run, it has sound, but the screen is black. Medieval 2 Total War works on this laptop fine. Any suggestions?

It works, but in the beginnig has no intro and the menu beackground is messed up(red and black stripes and squares). When starting the EB campaign CTD occurs The problem definitely is with the vanilla, but it worked 3 moths ago, when it was installed for the last time.

I've cleaned up all registry traces from previous RTW files, but it doesn't help.

I did. Downgraded to last year's version of my ATI driver, but it is the same ****:hmmm:

It may be that RTW isn't supported by your graphics card. Sometimes new cards won't work old games. It has never worked on this computer before?
