Do you have a 64 bit version of windows? 4GB of ram will not work in a 32 bit operating system.

And coolermaster arn't well known for quality psu's. Swap it with something from either Enermax, Tagen, FSP Group/OCZ, Antec. It could very well be perfectly fine but these makes are very well known for quality.

Looks like he chose 64-bit home premium so it should be fine.

Your build looks fine only a couple suggestions. You really don't need the extra thermal grease as the ZEROtherm cooler comes with it. Secondly if you do change your PSU consider getting a modular one (so convenient).

I run this memory and it has better timings and can overclock well for just $10 bucks more than the Patriot memory you have chosen (personally I'm not a fan of Patriot memory).

Instead of spending $200 on the E6750, wait until the end of the month and hunt for the E8400.

I agree, if you can wait just a bit longer, go with the newer cpu.

Also, unless you have a very stringent budget, you should consider a bigger harddrive. I think 320 or 500 GB drives are the best bang for buck now (ie. lowest $/GB).

Same thing goes for the monitor. Looks like only a 19" model. For about $50 more, you can get a 22" model which seems to be the current sweet spot. I got the PNY 8800GT as well and as it plays fine on a 22" lcd.

Its a great PSU have one in my other machine, large 12v rails for the win over multiple smaller 12v rails.

hey guys thanks for all the input i really appreciate it. This will be my first build and i want something that will be able to last into the future a bit and hopefully plan empire total war with settings turned up. I think i might just have to wait for the new line of processors to come out. It is definitely worth it to be patient.

I looked at the silencer 610W before and thought about springing for the extra $30 dollars because it is an extremely good PSU. Ill revise my list and see what the totals come out to. Thanks for your input.

Really? How much RAM does the 32 bit version support?
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

Lol, the spaces between the return policy and in stock and the fact that you didn't have spaces between the items really threw me off.

I was about to say "Do you really need a $250 power supply?"

I don't like Coolmaster products as such I especially wouldn’t trust them to make my PSU. Instead I would suggest this, PC Power & Cooling make the best PSU’s on the planet, I’ve seen the review their efficiency is remarkable and it’s only $30 more then your current choice.

I’m also sceptical about the CPU heatsink as I’ve never heard of Zerothem. Instead I highly recommend this,

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro. Don;t be put by the fact that it's half the price of the other HSF, Arctic's Freezer Pro 7 has been the custom heatsink of choice for Intel chipsets for a couple of years now. YOu also won't need to buy that thermal grease this CPU HSF comes pre greased.

Also if you want a 19" monitor don't get a widescreen, at that size your better of with a normal 4:3 screen, we have 19" widescreens at work and they look rubbish.

Personally I can’t wait for the new graphics cards coming from ATI, if the HD 3870 X2 3DMark2006 benchmarks (Google it) are anything to go by ATI will finally claim the performance crown back from NVIDIA. I expect the 9800GTX X2 to run it close but don’t assume it will overtake ATI, at the moment Crossfire scales a lot better then SLI, which is what both these cards are using i.e. Crossfire and SLI respectively on one card.

o wow they look amazing, 4476 points in SM3 and another 4494 in SM2 at 2560X1600. Hope they are reasonably priced im going to build a new system soon and was going with 2x 38x0 but I might grab one of these.

3GB. It's a limit on the 32 bit system. See here (yes, it says 4GB, If you do things to the registry, but even then I think it only recognises a maximum 4GB including 1GB Page file. That leaves 3GB physical RAM)

What happens if you put 4 gigs of RAM in?

won't read it, performance hits, you don't need more than 2 gigs normally anyway.
