Default Can anyone tell me how to remove a virus?

I uploaded the infected file to a site named "virustotal.com" which returned the following description: http://www.virustotal.com/sv/analisi...cc9e8f0107bef8

Does anyone know how to remove this virus? It appears each antivirus software identifies it under a different name, and the virus doesn't fit any of the descriptions I've found. The infected file is named Wab64.dll and is located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Speech, just like the descriptions say, but there's no "svchost.exe" in that folder on my computer (but according to the descriptions, there is). I can delete Wab64.dll in safe mode, but not when running windows normally, and the file reappears each time I restart the computer. My antivirus does not detect any other infected files on my computer, but there has to be other infected files, otherwise the virus couldn't keep respawning Wab64.dll, right? What do I do? What the hell is "Speech" anyway?

Your best bet is to download an anti-virus program and see what that can do for you. I would suggest Kaspersky or AVG Free. Both of them are free and will be able to give you a much more specific and informed analysis of your system. If you are willing to pay for commercial software then, by all means, go ahead and do it. There is no substitute for proper anti-virus software, though.

Your AV suite may be able to take self-corrective steps.

Start here and follow their instructions. If you get to the point of providing a Hijackthis log then odds are they will get everything straightened out for you.

I installed HijackThis and did a scan of my computer. When the scan was complete, I found the .dll file and deleted by HijackThis.
