Default Help looking for an AGP card

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a good graphics card to upgrade my system. I'm currently using an ATI Radeon 9800 card and i have, from what i can tell, an AGP bus interface. So the question is, what is a good card to get? I guess im looking to spend between 100-200 dollars, approximately. Bottom line is, I want to get a card that will last me a few years, until I completely overhaul the system and get a new motherboard so i can upgrade to a pci express card.

    Thanks!

agp is so dated now getting a couple of years out of it is unrealistic, your best option is probably a x1950pro if you can find one, but they are pretty rare these days.

Best AGP Card For >$200: Wait

Our former recommendation in this price segment for AGP was the Radeon X1950 XT, the fastest AGP card released to date. Why did we change our recommendation? First, the Radeon X1950 XT is getting harder and harder to find, so it's possible that Gecube isn't making them anymore. Second, there are rumors of a new AGP king on the horizon - it looks like there's an AGP version of the Radeon 38x0 series in the works!

If you're going to spend more than $200 on an AGP card, you owe it to yourself to hold off a bit and see if the Radeon 3850 will be gracing the AGP bus in the near future.
Taking directly from Tom's January Edition of The Best Gaming Graphics Card. I would have to agree that the sooner you move from AGP the better.
