Incest Bug?

In a strange twist, playing as Demark, my faction heir, Prince Ulf, has become besotted with his own blood relation sister. I recieved a mission to marry Princess Cecile to Prince Ulf for a reward. Against my own personal morals, I decided to give it a go in the name of entertainment, but there is no option to marry the two incestuous siblings together. Is there any way to get them together or is this a bug (albeit a trivial one)? Bear in mind that this is an immediate family, blood relation sister, not an adopted cousin. Im playing Vanilla 1.3 (not Kingdoms), by the way.

Brother to sister? Don't think that it is possible, but I wouldn´t do it even if u could, because u will get kids with negative traits.

That's what I was curious about. Whether the game would take this into account or if it is deemed "normal", which in Medieval times probably wasn't as much of a taboo.

I once asked if cousins marrying cousins gave bad traits for the kids, and I was told (by a modder I think) that the answer was no.

And sibling marriage is not possible in the game, even though it wasn't unheard of in real life during the old days.

I've got a mission atm to send my dead former faction leader on crusade, and the penalty may be excommunication.

And the quest didn't expire? Get a diplomat to Rome and get your rating up (giving a (lousy) settlement works very well).

Well I remember hearing from people that it gave bad traits so I'd avoid it if I were you, but maybe it is with one of those mods that add a lot of traits and ancilleries only.

I don't think so. Just a moment ago, I married Cecile to the Holy Roman Empire heir and got a message that the mission had failed due to the Princess finding another husband. Strange. :hmmm:

I find this highly amusing! But actually, not only is it not possible, but even in those days the royalty had to apply to the pope prior to getting married, because a certain degree of separation had to be maintained. Didn't stop Spain from consistantly marrying uncles to neices- which is why their bloodline become so ridiculously inbred. Ever heard of the "Hapsburg" jaw? I mean, just look at poor Prince Edward- that is years of incest at it's finest.
