Default How do you guys train troops?

Yeah yeah, I know how to train troops, I'm more curious of how you guys deal with the fact that you have to wait to train certain troops. In the early game I just train what ever infantry there is available and inbetween train a few archers till I got my desired stack. But later on when I start getting level 3 castles/cities I'd rather stop training peasants and only stick to spearmen and my heavy infantry. but they just don't seem to regenerate fast enough.

Do you guys just keep training what ever you can, or do you wait?

Also I usually only have 2-3 castles or training cities (ie settlements that have the highest barracks + highest blacksmith available.) Do you guys use more to keep up with building your stacks? I find anymore castles and I start to slow down money wise. Though I havn't finished a full campaign yet, I usually only get to 25-30 regions before getting bored.

I always have castles focus on one thing, say infantry, bowmen or cavalry. it works because those three/two castles can make full armies for any ocation and you never empty the potentail (sp) units.

you should also know that you should not have to many peasants, if you need dispenseable units use the light spearmen that everyone has.

I only use peasants for my first two stacks, and try to phase them out as I'm building my third stack.

I'm currently on my second try as England and things are going just as smooth as you'd expect. I've only got 3 castles. two pumping out spearmen and heavy infantry and one pumping out longbowmen. but making new stacks while haveing to replenish old ones (I'm kinda reckloose with my troops in battle) I eventually get to the point that I can only train one troop per turn and sometimes can't train them at all.

alright try this. focus one push at a time.

    for example
    1) hit the scots hard with a single army, if your money is good don't be afraid to use mercs.

    2) keep your french castle safe (if it's not a castle make it one)

    3) after you have killed the scots then push into euro.
