Icon5 No music in RTR Platinum?

New to the forum and the RTR mod to RTW. I successfully installed RTR (at least I can play it!). However, I have a problem in that I hear no music in RTR Platinum; isn't there supposed to be music? Its not a "sound" issue AFAICS as I hear all the "taunting" of Victoria (unless I mute her) and the general when he's inspiring the men before battle, and various sound effects. I miss the music playing in the background I had with the vanilla RTW, so could someone please tell me what I have done "wrong" in installing RTR, and what to do to fix it? Many thanks!!

Do you have the mod switch version of RTRPE v1.9? There was a workaround it some user posted but I can`t found it atm. Try a search in the tech support sub-forum above. I forgot where it was posted.

EDIT: I`ve re read your post. Maybe this will be enough:
In your Data\Sounds folder change the events.idx and events.dat filename to oldevents.idx and oldevents.dat. That will do it.

Are you using the mod switch version of RTRPE?

If you are, the way that it worked for me was to move the music folder under the original game and paste it into the RTRPE's music folder. Then, there's a file called descr_ err something music, you'll know it when you see it. Put that from the original game into the corresponding folder for RTRPE. I think it was /data. I don't have the game on my current computer so I don't remember. And if you have custom music, make sure to change the name of events.idx and events.dat in the music folder.

Yes... Appreciate the comments; tried both suggestions. IIRC what I was getting before and then after, it did help restore some events sounds i didn't realize i was missing, but still, no music...

Well, I am sure what-all has been suggested would work if I were a little more computer savvy. However, I noted this evening there is another thread that talks about downloading and installing the RTR Gold music-add-on to the Platinum, so, I tired it. Houston -- we have music! Works fine and the new (to me) music is kind'a neat, albeit, I miss that haunting piece the female sings in RTW... Oh well, can't have everything I guess!!??

    Thanks guys.
