Iberian Conflict performance

first off let just say that Iberian conflict is one great mod it is super fun to play. Well basically im writing this because i have windows vista and after installing the Iberian conflict my game ran super slow. I was running low rez and low quality and it still was super choppy. i dont know if anyone else experienced any problems like that but after some searching on the net i found a solution that drastically changed the performance of my PC EVERYTHING runs faster now Here is what i did i followed some advice and went over to this webpage http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/supertweaks.htm#one

I also changed the page file usage from a min of 16 mb max 3000 TO a minimum of 1000mb and max 5000mb. I think thats probably where i got the most performance boost. Of course you need to space on the hard drive to be able to do that
Anyway my game and system runs MUCH better now and can run TIC at full resolution and everything set to its highest

Im running an Athlon 64 dual core 5600 processor
8800 GTS 640 mb
and 2 gigs of ram (need more )

i got a MPEG file from release movie download stuck on desktop!
i can neither drag it into recycle bin, nor delete. when i try, a pop up window says "calculating time remaining..." and it lasts for ages and nothing. if i try clicking anywhere on desktop screen goes whitish and another pop up window says Window Explorer stopped working.
neither it possible to rename the file nor cut paste!
i tried free reg cleaner and even restoring system, still nothing. its still there staring at me.
any thoughts?

There is a program on the net; something like 'alldeleter' and it is able to delete that.

I run everything at a good speed on medium with a very outdated pc.

WinXP
Intel dual core 1.6GHZ each
Nvidia 5700LE (what a peice of junk)
2GB ram
Motherboard Soundcard and a Faulty LG monitor.

I might get a new system sometime this year.

I have created a new user in my pc so i can play only games, i'm closing firewall and antivirus .but still nothing ...Do you know any clue how to make my pc go faster ? Amd Athlon 64x2 3800+ 2.01, 2 gb ram, nvidia geforce 7800 gt, windows xp ... Thanx !!!!!

Clean out your registry using RegSupreme or its free cousin Regcleaner.
Defragment your Hard-drive if you don't remember the last time you did it.
Get latest drivers for your graphics card.

The Registry cleaning will help you out a lot BUT make sure you BACKUP what you removed just in-case it acts berserk.

How long was it since you made a reformation of the harddrive? Have you made an defragg? There is many things you can do

In the game you can turn grass down, that helps.

Turn the grass down low and see what happens. It's a known eater of resources.

Instead of setting the page file min to 1000 and max to 5000, set both the same value say 3072 or 4096 mb, If both min and max have the same values the system won't have to adjust the page file, It will have a permanent swap line in Linux machines and will run more soother

I have to say wonderful job to whoever did the models for the units for TIC, I went back and played Vanilla RTW and the units are 10X worse looking and battles seem slower on my comp for some reason on Vanilla (no idea why). I even can turn up the graphics settings and still the game runs smoother than vanilla, even though I run on an ancient computer (1/2 gig RAM, and a 256 MB graphics card)

I use Advance WindowsCare v2 Personal and also CCleaner everytime before I run the game. I helps with the speed a lot and both are freeware.

that should be plenty for running TIC with unit details and AA on high if you drop terrain and vegetation to medium
