HELP!!!!

For those who read my AAR this might be of some importance as I cant seem to access my save games!!!

Every time, and everyone, it manages to finish the loading bar then it CTDs! Is this fixable or does it mean all my save files are corrupt!

PS please dont say its corrupt, I have done to much work!
(but if it is just say it quickly)

But I do have an earlier save file which still works,from before I controlled the alps. Which is quite far back as those who read my AAR will know.

Is this happening even with older saves that you have managed to load before? If so, then it's probably your game-files that have been messed up. Have you installed any other mods or made any changes?

*edit* Which version of XGM did you start with, and which version are you using now? Have you changed any of the install options along the way?

If you mean what I think you mean, by did the save files used to work the answer is yes, they worked this morning so like 12 hours ago.
And yes I have installed a new mod but that was on a different install of RTW. (I did this by installing RTW, BI XGM etc then moving that RTW folder and then un-installing RTW and then re-installing it. Which does work as I have done it before). Could this be the reason as I really do want to solve this as I have but alot of work into it!

And i am sorry if I am ranting. Please do say if I have completly missed the point or make no sense!

*edit* Oh yeah, im using version 5.5.8, I think, oh and I read it wrong, no older save work fine-well I have only tried one of them but it works fine. Also I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling RTW but to no avail. And I dont think I changed any options but im not totally sure.

That should work, but there are things that could go wrong, like one of the installs of RTW failing to patch properly, or even worse if your old install of RTW was messed up in some way.

Can you e-mail one of the saves that still works, and your most recent save? I'll take a look and see if I can load them.

What, do you mean the lastest one that doesnt work and the one that does work.

Oh as I didnt say before I have about 7 save files, which were currently on the game which are all corrupt, and the one that still works was in a backup folder form beofre when I had it on the memory stick.

Not to brag or anything, but I know. And I have but in alot of effort into this AAR and the campaign do I would be rather pissed if he cant fix it. But at least I have one save file that works form a while back which I could try and catch up with so if he cant fix it all is not lost!

I had a look at the saves - the one that works for you also worked fine for me, but the other two did not work. My best guess as to what went wrong is that the files in your previous RTW/XGM install got messed up in some way, and now these saves will only work with a set of files that have been messed up in the same way.

There is one more thing that you could try. The most likely cause of your problem is that the previous install was not patched correctly, so re-install RTW, and BI, but *do not* patch it to 1.6. Then install XGM and see if your saves load.

I have done that, I saved the game loads of times, this time I saved it like 3 times before I quit it to write the AAR but every single save file broke! Stupid thing! I will have to continue using the older save file from by pen drive.

And DBH I am pretty sure my game was patched to 1.6, as I had to reinstall RTW once and I patched that to 1.6 and the saves worked fine then. I think my best bet now is to try and catch up on my old save file even if it comes out a little different as I should be able to catch up rather fast as I will not need to post it in the AAR due to it has already happened, in theory. (If you get that, I think I rambled a bit!)

It just has one slight difference, actually now I think of it the year might be different, oh well I created a time machine and went back with an army.
