I sent a spy to check out the popes army. One of the popes traits is "Secretly Female"!

Now you tell me now, what the **** is going on here? What are the trait details btw. What does it do to the character.:hmmm:

It mentions how the figure is so religious/pious, that they pretend to be a man...don't remember the exact wording though

I believe the trait gives 1 piety, -1 eligibility, and possibly might affect purity...

It also affects violence (which I think impacts heretic trials?).

I saw this happen once too... but what was really strange was that the pope was elected from the Papal States (they gave themselves 4 cardinals)!

Violence effects how willing the pope is in allowing crusades. "Secretly female" lowers violence.

That explains why she wouldn't call a crusade on the English for me!

The effect of one point less violence probably makes a slight difference. Get your papal rating up to maximum and then try again.

This thread also gave me an idea on how to possibly be able to call crusades when you are the papal states. I'll give the pope all traits and ancillaries that add to violence. Maybe that will help.

I think that secretly female gives -3 violence. Anyway, she had the "peaceful" trait also.

Looked it up. Secretly female raises piety and purity by 1 point and lowers electability and violence by one point.

Peaceful lowers violence by 1 to 3 points, depending on the level of the trait.

Max peacefulness and secretly female make for a big penalty to violence of -4.

Is there any way to expose a pope- it doesn't seem very likely but it would be funny if you could.
