problems with EB

alright
i've looked at like all posible problems of EB tried fixing them
uninstalled reinstalled a billion times
and i was wondering

wat could possibly go wrong
it crashes constantly when i start custom battles or the campaign game

and its makin me angry
plz someone help shine some light on this problem

yea
i installed reg rome
then 1.3 and 1.5 then EB 1.0

well i've been trying it
and i played one historical battle
then i tried to load a campaign game and thrn CTD

any thoughts?

It sounds to me like some file is corrupted that is causing the game to crash when cmpaign is starting, possibly something in descr_strat.txt or another txt file.
What exactly does the game do when it crashes? does the machine lock up or does it just crash to desktop ?

just bam crash to desktop
same with custom battles

and i noticed it didnt say what the win conditions are....

it doesnt say what the win conditions are in descr_win_conditions.txt.
its empty

but that doesnt explain the custom battle CTD

and i've been trying for days and nights to play EB

Try adding "-nm" to the command line of the shortcut.
(Check the 'validation tool' sticky for some other things to try.)

and could you show me an example of the "-nm" thing

There is a stickied thread here in the bugreport subforum that gives some advice if your game doesn't start up.

The "-nm" fix is done but editting your desktop shortcut. Right click on it, go to properties, then add " -nm" as the end of the 'Target' line.

The "-nm" command is for no movies. It will disable the intro movie and all the rest. For some reason the intros in EB are causing some graphics drivers to crash the game just before or just after the intro movie or the faction movie.
