    Default Improve AI needed!

    I must say that this mod, is by far, the most pleasant mod made for MTWII engine, the only thing that actualy bother me is the battle AI. I noticed that when a battle starts the enemy army always start running madly toward my army, and the archers pass over the infantary being easy for my cavalry to take them down. A similar situation happens in siege battles, as the Battery Ram aproachs my walls a large part of the army aproach at the same time, you know what happens next...

    My questions are:

    Is this situation happening with other players ?
    Is possible to change the battle AI and improve normal battles and siege battles ?

    Once again congratulations repman for your great work with this mod.

    I believe this is known and is being looked into. This is how battles have been as far as I can remember.

    Im a big fan of Lusted's new battle AI, you can use this easy with DLV mod if you prefer it. Just go to Lands to conquer thread and grab the files.

    I too enjoy Lusted's Campaign AI and combat AI.

    No more leaving island settlements undefended or an army will ship and smash your defenders down. I have yet to see a naval invasion with the current AI in DVL.

    I have had no problems w/ water borne invasions playing 5.2. The Irish have taken parts of France and Wales. I have seen Danes and Norway in mainland England and Ireland. The Italian states are constantly fighting over islands and invading one another. Armenia also took some land on the island to the south of their starting spot. Campaign Ai is good and needs only minor tweaks imo.

    Battle Ai is a whole lot better than regular mtw2 that’s for sure. I think that tokus and agent nailed it though. If mtw2 battles were like mtw1 it would be the frosting on the cake. It would be cool to be loosing or almost loosing battles once and a while.

    Ps: I have been away for a while and this is my first game playing dlv since non-kingdoms dlv and I must tip my hat to the team. Job well done and thanks.

    I have played countless times vanilla MTWII + mods, SS/long road/DLV always on VH/VH. I believe other mods became too slow - due to longer building times , less money and lower attack values and higher morale. I enjoyed DLV much more then anything else.
    the only thing that should be considerable improved is strategic AI. I believe best AI I played against was in latest SS mod. at least on VH/VH AI should be more aggressive on strategic map, recruiting bigger armiers. the composition of armies is ok

    I wish AI armies on the battlefield left me a scarred as MTW used to. While I love the strat map AI and the fine gameplay script work of DLV, I'm curious to know which battle AI is convincingly the most testing and tricky to fight.

    The battle AI in 5.1 is changed compared to 5.1...do you see it ?

    I tried this, i like the fact that archers aren't suicidal anymore, at least it looked like it in that last battle, but I still have my big problem. I used to be able to control my AI army more, now it wont listen when i hit defend. At least, my AI generals wont. Im hating anytime I have backup cause I know that it's general will charge and die no matter what I do. I remember being able to right-click and set them up in formation, is that not possible in this? I dunno, but having Generals dying cause they charge into a mass of troops and all I can do is try to make it there first, really sucks.

    I've mentioned this problem before too. But I don't think the problem is exclusive to DLV. I think this is a problem with the Kingdoms reinforcement AI in general. I've noticed that the computer AI has the same problem with re-enforcing generals.... They suicide... All you can do at the moment is make sure that the re-enforcing army only has ground troops.
