Reminiscing (sp?)

Since BC is getting close to release I for one reason or another started reading some of the old stickies, particularly the (I presume) first one "total war in the middle east" and man is that bizarre.

Just seeing mirage's faction descriptions for turks and ERE ( something like "we will be using most of the vanilla units" ) or him asking for a skinner and alphadelta going "I'm not great skinner but I can try" and latter AD saying he didn't know to reskin helmets and one guys suggesting that it should be called "crescent vs cross" so it wasn't so middle east focused. Its just weird, but also highly entertaining for all of those souls waiting for release who are tired of refreshing the mod progress page.

Yes, that thread used to be in the "Mod Threads" subforum before we got our own. I intentionally sort of left it un-edited just for old-times sake. I will probably unstick it and close it soon. You can pretty much trace BC's progress from the very first post I made to now. While we've had our recent differences and 'issues', needless to say BC would not exist for long without this post.

I remember the first time I heard about Broken Crescent, I remember the mods title "Total war in the total east" or something like that .

And I also remember thinking " Now who would play that?" and skipping by it to download the latest build of LTC, which was 1,0 at the time.



That was before I saw the screen shots though, now all I can say is "Damn"

I must confess that, like Fenix, the first time I came across BC, a long time ago, I thought it would come to nothing. It's really been amazing to see how it's grown to become the mod I have looked forward to more than any other, and the only reason I, like many other people it seems, have M2TW installed on my PC.

I never knew that when I first saw a post regarding Broken Crescent on a another separate forum(i think it was totalwar.org), I'd be signing whole hours and days and weeks and MONTHS of my mortal life regularly checking the BC forums and gazing upon the faction units and imagining my inevitable and eventual domination of the Middle East in my sleep....
