    Default NEVER finish a campaign?

I was wondering if I' am the only one who NEVER ever finish a campaign.
I never finish a campaign in ROME nether as well. I usually love to play SPAIN, against the moors and keeping a watching on my Portugal brothers.

I would players for hours and hours to come. Rushing to click end turns but forgetting something. I even cheats sometimes when I couldn't help it when I'm broke or something to be honest...

I usually stop when I'm bored or another update/mod is releae. Or I'm waiting for a mod to be release...(Gathering Storm, BC, Niko Officer mod w/gore with SS mod) Restart all over again.

In-fact I just reinstall my M2TW trying Niko mod all over again. Then wait for the SS update with Raven Darkwing going to convert it.

Just wanted to know if anybody else is some-what in the same position I' am in. LOL

This is why I love PC game. Mods mods mods...!

You're not alone, I also never finished a campaign. I only like the first few turns of a campaign, then it gets boring with armies that are far too strong and no challenging enemies anymore.

I finished one campaign so far in about a year of M2. but that was the most boring campaign I ever had, as I waged a constant bloody mercyless war. After you crushed one or two factions and take over their lands its getting too easy to steamroll the rest and that is boring.

BUT I found a way to keep my current campaigns ongoing and fun. Hotseating. Playing multiple factions or taking over control of factions on the edge of doom is challenging and rewarding, and you dont have to start a new campaign all the time, just because you felt like playing something else for a while.

for example. I have this Templar /Danish campaign going (SS4.1, 0.5 yrs/turn, I love to roleplay and slow gameplay helps a lot, I did not change building times for buildings, as I like to see more than militia armies half of the time). a crusade is called against Jerusalem so I take over Egypt for a while to fight off crusades, after they are fought off or I lost I give back Egypt to the AI, as I am busy with Denmark and their wars against Poland and Novogrod. Then I notice that the Byzantine Empire is about to crumble, so the Templars who are allied with Constantinople through half a dozen marriage alliances send some troops and I take over Byzanz too to coordinate the military campaign against the turks and Venice better than the AI would coordinate with me.

After the successful war against the turks and venice I gave back Byzanz to the AI and noticed that the few reforms I did in Byzanz (castles to cities, economic infrastructure repaired, enhanced, missionary work) they start to take off miltiary and economical against the balkans, so I had to help out Venice a little bit and sabotage some byzantine cities to keep Venice alive and Byzanz within its borders.

this way you can pick challenges and dont have to start a new campaign and play 100 turns in your new campaign to get into the action.

seriously? wait so doing that gives control to me or the AI? like say I choose a bunch of factions in the begining, but I only want to run England for a while i would type in
    "control Denmark"
Denmark and any others i did this for would now be under AI control? and then later I can go back to controlling them again by doing it again exactly the same way?
    "control Denmark"

Heh, always after like 200 turns i want to try a new faction. I was quite close to win with my france campaign with 46 settlements held, but then i 'had' to get 1.2 patch so the file got deleted :p

Large-scale battles are boring. I dont like fighting full stack vs full stack wars :p

I never finish companies. If my company is sucsesful,I have tons of money and best armies that can be recruited, but than I am getting bored of countless battles.

I never finish campaigns. Basically what ends up happening is I'll play as a faction, then lose interest in it and like another faction instead, which I then "have" to switch to. The only campaign I've ever finished was a short campaign as England.

I actually can't remember even one campaign that I completed, but at the moment I am playing with denmark, and if the HRR wouldn't have horded (I'm using DLV), I would already have finished it (have to occupy 20 settlements and destroy the HRR). And it's actually jsut the second campaign where I even reached teh Mongol's Invasion, wich should happen in 3 rounds or so. I am usually holding the challenge on a steady level by always giving money to the other factions so they can develop their settlements far enough. Not that they'd attack me, because I actually still am too strong (especially together with my allies), but they are still strong enough that a multi-front-war would be pretty dangerous, so I have to play cautious (read -> unboring).
And in Rome I only played two campaigns surpassing the marian reforms, I think, and maybe a campaign with the glorious seleucids just as long. But I never really finished them.

affirmative, aye, yes, si, tak, da, ja, (o)ui

the name of the factions is stated in the descr_strat.txt in case you need one.

Rebels are called Slaves as far as the console goes

but you have to give back the rebels to the AI before you end the turn, as the game crashes most of the times when you are rebels and hit end turn. End Turn will however start automatically if you give back the rebel faction, as they are the last faction that the AI calculates.
