I did start again because i think my friend had different settings than i was told and after a shouting admitted he had used cheats on his saved game i used "I spit in your face alex"

The guide that hesus made 15 turns one it didnt work because flavius cant move to that position in 1 turn... so i devised my own plans which didnt work too good but atleast gaul only took genua greece took messana and carthage is gone from italy but....

i dont have money and i need info on how to use the shield wall formation in for not to smart ppl like"shield wall guide for idiots" ill be able to understand that
This is mainly asking for formations so that men will live!!

BeingOwned, check my first post on this page, click the "Show" buttons to show the images. I've explained how I use shieldwall against gauls there.

And about Hesus guide, the important thing isn't to get it exactly right, right away. However, match the armies as Hesus has written, this is very important to get best chances of winning.

I took Taras a few turns later than the guide, but it can still work out. There's a big bonus if you can manage to keep Genua, but you need to fight at the top of your abilities to manage this. This was the first time I managed it. But it's no biggie if you lose it either, you will get it back a few years later when you've kicked out Carthage from the Italian mainland.

Mehhh...at the moment the gauls seem to be desperate and attack full legions with 8-15 units...it sucks to fight at least 1 of those battles /turn

But those results are pretty good BO...wtg

sorry if that's an insult or something, i don't know...BO is also "battle orders" in diablo 2 and it's a neat thing

The reason i did n' t say 2 times move Flavius to blabla is because it is obvious he has to get there. He just need to get from Capua to the point i am describing, just do it as fast as you can. How ever you to get a lot of money you realy should follow the steps i provided, by building the mine in Arretium first you will get a lot of money same for raising taxes the first turn and later on building traders, roads and ports. These steps are the important once to get a lot of money.

I thought so, but you cant undo it because now ive gotten so far, i followed your what to build in the settlements and fighting the carthaginians and gauls part which very much the whole time.

i have a question about ports (perhaps a daft one) are you supposed to only be able to train biereme at the first level then lose bieriemes when you upgrade to triemes etc - cause this is annoying cause it stops you from maintaining/retraining fleets that you've previously recruited

unfortunately yes...that's why I started to build fleets when quinquiremes were available and never before...the fleets of th enemy became even stronger in 7.0 so there is no point in building up a fleet early on

Ships are not that much super valuable part of the game anyways, so I guess it does not matter that much.

Well the most men on board of a roman ship is 80 so you need a lot of ships to defeat that carthaginian fleet it is in control of the sea at iberia and Africa, you probebly noticed thy have like +100 men each ship.

Yeah, and also they come highly experienced, so in first turns, trying to master the seas is not that much vital goal. later, as you take Carthage, Iberia and south of Gaul, eventuall Greece, there is no place to control except for few rebels fleet. So navy and its importance is reduced heavily I guess

Only gauls use a lot of fleets thy get very annoying.

yes i noticed that LT has given roman ships half the number of men (to show their naval incompentance i suppose) i was just asking cause in my battle to own sicily everytime i clear the island of enermy armies they get replaced so i was hoping to use czePowerslaves tactic of stopping ship landings but i can only locally train bieremes and they are to rubbish to stop carthage lol

Go blockade all their ports and if you have the money, make like 2x20 ships fleets and take them out
