What do you mean? Make new sprites?

When you zoom out, the 3d models become flat 2d sprites(I think that's what you call them)

    How do you edit those?

Again, what do you mean with edit? Create new ones for a new unit or what? You can open the .tga.dds files with any program that has a dds plugin, but why in the world would you wanna do that? When adding in a new unit people generate new sprites. You can`t edit the existing ones to fit a differrent unit.

    Start with these tutorials:
    http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/Sprites
    http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=44180

And there is also this in case you want to make lots of them:

Two more things that might not be in there:
    1. you need to make a folder named sprites in the location Rome - Total War/data if you are making sprites using the RTW exe.
    2. you can convert the tga files created using ddsconverter that you can get from the download section of twc. And make sure to select DXT5 in options along with "save alpha (if any)".

Also it might be worth noting that if you simply delete the sprit line in dmb ( desc_model_battle ) than bring the other line up so it is under the model flexi line, the game will not switch to sprites when you zoom out .

I would only advise to do this though if your computer can handle it . Oftern this can prove better as i belive sprites can miss out things like shields. ( i would need confimation on that though )

    Thanks!

Also, my computer can handle Crysis quite well, so this is a big relief.

    I really appreciate it.
