    Default Siege autoresolve

Why is it that when I siege a city with a halfway decent army (vs. a garrison of lesser or equal value) the auto resolve option not only will always win, but win WAY better than I could realistically ever achieve. As such, I find myself autoresolving sieges nearly always. This has been like this since vanilla 1.0 ROME Total War. I am on VH/VH

I figure it's one of three things:

    1) I suck at sieges dreadfully (though even against lusted's AI in the battlefield I consistently get heroic victories VH/VH).

    2) Autoresolves are hard-coded and cannot be changed, which is why even excellent user AIs like lusted's still have this issue.

    3) This issue is for the AI, to make them more able to take settlements for a more dynamic campaign.

I'm curious as to what's going on. Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, autoresolve for cities doesn't take walls and towers into account.

Crap. So no matter what its way imbalanced in favor for the attacker, both for the AI and the player?

It's awesome but AI still has trouble taking cities...

Is there a way to semi-realistically punish the player for auto-resolving sieges? Like have a 300% increase to rebel army generation in the area because not all the enemy was killed or something?

I hate doing a siege, loosing 900 men, then loading and auto-resolving and loosing 190. Its ridiculous.

I don't know if I have that kind of willpower.

Id rather it be a game mechanic.
