The Moors really rock when played right. It has all the solid cavalry and swordsmen of the other Iberian factions (Spain and Portugal) but with light (but good) desert troops for the mix. Not to mention the Moors have none of the humbug with a pope and jihads are easier to call. I'm glad you found a faction and playstyle you're satisfied with... it appears SO much so that you're upset you can't have more.

I want it all, the entire map! But with turns and what not. It gets to be hard to do. I mean I took Gaul, Iberia, Italy, North Africa, Scandinavia, Greece, Turkey, the British Isles, The Entire Medditerainean. But the rest, forget about it. But it was the Dismounted Arab Cavalry, Jinetes, Desert Archers, and The Islamic Armour on the Generals bodygaurds horses that won me over. Christian Knights, and Cavalry only fuel my love for the Moors more. And Jihads, don't even get me started. Evry Jihad declared was by me!

Did you use the Camel gunners. They are really fun to play. they can beat everything
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

Perhaps something to try next might be Russia? Similar composition in terms of units plus you start on the complete opposite side of the map yet fight similar armies to what you would in Iberia when you face Poland and Hungary.

    Food for thought mate.

Camel Gunners are really awesome, before using it I never knew of the range and how all units can fire at once instead of only the first line. It totally blow me away... the Moors kick ass!

Yeah, the Moors are great! I once conquered Spain, Portugal, France, and part of the HRE as them, before getting bored just after gunpowder was invented (I've never finished a campaign, because I always get bored and start a new one mid-game because I decide to play a different faction).

Wow, thought I was the only one. Ya, Moors, England, and now Milan too. Milan being the only one out of the three I haven't finished yet.

The Moors are very fun to play. I have only 2 big disappointments:

1.) It is turn 72. I have 37 territories, with 2 more under seige: looks as though the long campaign will be completed before the gunpowder age begins, so I will not get to use Camel Gunners.

2.) I did not figure out how to get to the unbelievable goodies at the bottom of the map until the mid-game. That money would have been a super turbo-boost to the economy if I had been able to get to it in the very early game.

Don't forget the goodies in Timbuktu for Merchants, the gold alone with a full stat merchant can pull in 2000+ plus gold per turn

I've played as the Moors four times. They're actually a good faction, with good units. Most of their good units come later though, at the start, you pretty much can only recruit desert infantry, which are lightly armed. Oh, and why exactly were you dissapointed?
