Turn 179 as the English. I can't imagine whats happened? All I see in the family tree screen are the first two members of the Empire, both deceased of course.
Any ideas?

This happened to me once. I kept playing and it came back intact eventually, after a few of my kings had died. No idea what the cause is though

Its a known bug that if you have too may family members the game cannot cope with the 'width' of the family tree and so it vanishes. Nothing you can do really (unless as noted you wish to kill of your family members).
To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.
